Yes and no. I wasn't hoarding before. .... what did I spend my money on????.... I ate more sweets and things that aren't good for me. But I am a cardmaker and I do have too much. But clearing out.

I am a cardmaker and scrapbooker. There are some tools I could have done without, but one small note...when I started doing journaling, junk journaling and making my own journals, many of my craft supplies got a new life. Things that are no longer me for cards or layouts fit right into journaling...like stickers and ribbon.

I love this video. I am a card maker, but my list is almost identical. I have a crop o dile I used twice. I have a drawer full of distress ink I haven't used in years which is next to a bunch of embossing powder that also has not been used because heat embossing is annoying.I have a box full of 6x6 of paper pads that I rarely use. Likewise, a box of embossing folders and I use maybe four of them. And stamps...tons of never used ones. I have realized my hobby is collecting craft supplies, not actually crafting.

Should set up video for used craft supplies for sale or swap - seriously lots of crafters want your gently used supplies. Like me - cant afford new- but willing to pay shipping for your unwanted supplies.. the foils can be taken out of boxes & put in large flat mailer- you get $$ for what you really want more.. while ridding yourself of foils🤗

Brads. Please come and steal all the brads I bought thinking I'd enjoy adding by way of making holes in my layouts. Ugh! I much prefer things that stick. For awhile there were self-adhesive brads called Bradz, but they didn't last long, and the colors weren't very bold on them. Gems I don't love either and never use. I am, however, an enamel dot junkie. Lol. Thank you for sharing your rarely used items... I feel the same about stamps and planner stickers, and narrowly buying a cropodile once! 😂

I couldn’t believe I had radiant pearls paint bottles from 15 years ago in my drawers. also embossing powders that had gone bad, papers that had faded, reinkers that had turned, some of my ink pads were really really old I had the Marvy ink pads which I love but they don’t make anymore so I culled those too. Paper scraps which were too small, Papers whose prints I didn’t like and would never use. I use the backside of them for stamping on my desk.

My friend has a year crop as a fundraiser. It has a “yard sale “ table where people can put things they don’t use or want anymore and if you see something you like, you just pay what you think is fair. As someone who has only recently started scrapbooking, I try not to buy stamps and dies I’d only use for one project. This table has been wonderful to “borrow” items for the day.

Heather Hello! Fun Video! The witch stamp would be great for paper piecing. Mini albums are perfect if you're doing a December Daily. I'm a grandma so I use them for my 2 grandchildren. I never had a birthday party as a kid and I wanted to be sure my grandchildren's birthday parties get documented, thus one mini album per birthday to document the event. I put them all in a basket. I love embossing powders. Great for stamped sentiments, great for edging a mat around your photos. OMG I am obsessed with 6x6 paper pads!! Love them and I can't get enough! Teeny tiny patterns draw me in to use with clusters on my layouts, paper piecing, I use my die cuts with them, use them to decorate inside envelopes, on the inside of cards, use with punches. I still use eyelets occasionally so I won't give up my cropadile and I still use brads so it comes in handy for that as well.

I totally understand and while many of us have been collecting for years, my biggest beef with myself is being in subscription stamp and kit clubs. I need to stop and just purchase those that I like instead of the monthly because of repetition. I, personally, should never, ever need another butterfly, flower, markers, and certain sentiment sets. The cost of some of these sets is unreal and I must stop. As I watch the creativation previews, I actually saw nothing I couldn't live without in 2020. lol

I too have a paper addiction. I have at least a dozen or so 6x6 paper pads. Those mini albums...I tell myself that those smaller paper pads would be great! I have several books of planner stickers and oy vey embossing power ... it has a self-life! lol ... I still buy these things all while telling myself how I am going to use them. I love to make pocket letters, I don't have anyone to trade with so I have been making them for me. I found the planner stickers work well for pocket letters as do the 6x6 paper pads. I tend to use scraps and leftovers as well for pocket letters. I used to swap with people but it got to the point where the other party wasn't sending quality work or sending anything at all. You are not alone! lol thanks for the video. It makes me want to tornado my craft room and purge things that I would not miss if I had not bought them.

oh, boy, your video popped up on my feed, and I had to see it.. and yikes, I can honestly say 99% of my stuff is stuff I don't want or won't use... yeah, not a great feeling... but I can say, most of it was DT requirements, supplies or part of a kit, a prize, a DT package... but there is plenty, that I def can do without... and I am working on getting it out... I found, that crafting has become like fast fashion, and the push is real to have it all, but this year, I am working on actually using what I have, and figuring out in the process if I really want it, if not, it has to go, and now I am only crafting for myself, that def will cut down on the feeling like I have to have it, or need it.

I have done a huge purge in my craftroom and now my rule for buying stuff is that if I love it AND I can use it now than I will get it.....but if I love it and use it for someday....than no. There are always wonderful and cute stuff available and new stuff coming out that I want to buy something and be excited to use it. So it keeps me motivated to only use stuff and buy stuff for a project right now. I will say embossing folders make great mats for pictures in scrapbooking, eyelets work great for threading ribbon, twine and lace on scrapbook pages. I emboss all the time as a scrapbooker I really love it. I like to do collages with scrapbooking, and 6x6 is great for that. Cut shapes and use Collage Medium from Tim Holtz and it's really fun to collage a 12 by 12, also a great way to use up scraps! I don't know... I get what you are trying to do with this video but it doesn't feel motivating or encouraging. It feels depressing!! I mean if you have to say many people are not going to be happy about this.......???

I love my crop-o-dile. I use it for paper crafting and also for other things. For example - If you need an extra hole in a leather belt or if you need an extra hole in a tough nylon dog collar, the hole punch works wonders. I look at it as a tool just like a hammer or wrench. I may not use it for a year but when I need it for something, it's convenient.

I'm guilty too of having bought stamps that are cute for cards but not so much for scrapping...so my mind set had to change and now I don't buy anything that doesn't work for scrapping..and I've nailed it on this so to speak!! The cricut, I don't use it. It takes up space and it was expensive. Polymer clay, molds, books, and the dedicated pasta machine. I use my Crop a dile, to make leather journals, but now that I've made so many Midori's...and given all my family & friends one...it could be missing and I wouldn't care. My sewing machine, tons of fabric, threads, floss.... Gelatos, the colors are fugitive. Brusho, same as Gelatos. Flocking powder. Glitter. Pastels. Why do I feel the need to purchase every color of the last five things I've listed? I could go on & on. I'm more of an art supply collector, than an artist. I need to use what I have, and sell the rest. I feel guilty, it needs to end. Love the video, has me thinking. Nice to know I'm not alone. I subscribed.

I have a 6 x 6 paper pad problem. I think I have more than 50. However, I was able to donate many of them and some other items I don't use/haven't used much to some charities. It made me feel so much better that someone would use them and allowed more room for things I do use. I know some crafter sell "mystery boxes" with their unused/rarely used supplies & tools. You could arrange them by theme (Christmas, Critters, etc.) or just sell a box of stamps, or paper. Use them up or clear them out so you can see the items you need! Good luck!

I flip between scrapbooking and card making times. For the last 8 months I've been heavy into card making. I didn't use my 6 x 6 paper pads much in scrapbooking, but would always buy one to have the complete collection and have extra paper for album projects. But since I've been on this card making jag...I tend to only want to use the 6 x 6 pads for pattern paper because the prints are scaled down to work better on cards. So I guess it depends on what your into st the time. Same thing with stamps & embossing folders...use more with making cards. Starting to get a little burn out on cards lately...and missing some scrapbooking creativity in my life. So time for a switch up.

I am a card maker, and I too wouldn't miss several of the things you've mentioned! Yes,we tend to have eyes like you do when you go to a cafeteria ! Some of my paint brushes, are synthetic and honestly, I don't need! I've got an old xyron machine and used it some in the beginning, but it has sat on my shelf for years! Now I tend to use more solid paper and embellish it, so many of the papers I bought will never be used.

This is the 3rd video of this style I've watched in about a week and I can relate to ALL OF YOU LADIES!! If someone came into my house and stole ALL of my DCWV paper pads, coordinating stickers and coordinating mat stacks I would be relieved! Joann's used to sell a new set seasonally so there was xmas/winter, thanksgiving/fall/halloween and summer and there were sticker pads and coordinating solid paper stacks and mat stacks printed and solid...that collection alone is something I wouldn't miss had I not bought it. Oh and I also have a tonnage of scrapbooks for said DCWV paper stacks. It's so many projects to do, it makes me not even want to start! Thank you for sharing, Heather.

I wish I wouldn't have purchased my big Gemini cutting machine.... I'm not crazy about it... takes up a lot of room on the desk ... then I have to store it... I guess I like my manual cutting machines better... but spent a lot of money for it and now I'm not sure if I want to get rid of it... I know how you feel... I'm also a paper/ink/stamp/die/embossing powder and embossing folder hoarder..... I did do some minimal purging, but I need to do much more....now I'm into wax melting, etc.... It's always something I get myself into that's not a cheap hobby...thanks for the video and the wake up call... have a great evening!

Great video! I, too, often buy things that I think I will use but don't. One thing you can try is a craft swap with other crafters you know nearby or even by mail. I used to be a Girl Scout leader and wound up with a lot of craft material. At our area meetings, we would have craft swaps so that leaders could exchange what they didn't need for some things that they did need. If you don't need anything you could donate to a local troop or school.

I am neither a real card maker nor a real scrapbooker. (I'm more a mixed media/acrylic artist) My scrapbooking is few and far between but I mix pocket scrapbooking and "traditional" scrapbooking in the same album. 6x6 paper pads are good for making your own little pocket decorations. I make cards at Christmas and sometimes a birthday here and there. I think what I could have done without mostly is colored pencils and alcohol markers, although I do use the markers occasionally. Maybe it's time for a destash for you. :D Good luck. TFS.

I have several items I prob wouldn't miss but what comes to my mind right now is the We-R-Memory laser square tool. I bought it and have never used it. I'm so bad to buy things just because they are on sale...lol.... I do have to say though I use my crop-a dile a lot. I don't use the setter part either really though. What I like is that you can set the depth of the hole from the edge of paper to be the same for all holes. I like yours better than mine, cause mine has the plastic slide thing for measuring (which is hard to slide) and yours I believe are the older ones that use a screw to move it. It's what I call CHD... Crafters Hoarder Disease...lol... Maybe we need to start a swap group for swapping our tools we never use for something we might use..lol... P.S. I hope you are feeling better

*GASP* @ the 6x6 paper! LOL I ADORE pretty paper and I LOVE 6x6, but I'm a card maker. I also love the embossing folders you showed but I can understand why you don't use those. We agree on one thing, the planner craze, except I never could see the point (decorate a calendar you are going to toss at year's end..why? You really want to reminisce on that painful dental visit last February or that week your car broke down, etc. etc.) And regarding the foil, I'm actually quite proud of myself for being able to avoid that trend, so far... lol

I started paper crafting in 2015. I was heavy into photography and it seemed like scrapbooking was a way to explain the photos I took of old buildings. I soon discovered that my interest in doing this type of paper crafting was very limited. Ladies who scrap page after page and book after book of their children I just cannot relate to. For me, rather than consider what supplies I have I don't use, it's more a question of what ideas I use that are repetitive and lacking in real creative content. I stopped scrapbooking my photos after a couple of years. I then tapped into my natural creative side by making scrapbook pages (technically not scrapbook pages) of subject matter that interested me. My close friends are not interested in "pretty". They are interested in strange, weird and uncommon. As for "pretty" scrapbooking or journal making, how many butterflies or flowers or mushrooms or labels or tickets can you use before all your pages look alike? When does repetition kill creativity? For me, creativity is a constant desire to explore the new, the unknown, the scary. I realized after two years that looking at KZfaq scrapbook process videos was an exercise in tedious repetition. So, rather than think in terms of what supplies I have that I don't use, I approach my paper crafting (I now make picture books filled with original stories) with the thought of always asking myself what ideas am I using that no longer work. By doing this I keep in touch with my creative nature. I do not create with the thought in mind of pleasing others. Sometimes I want to make others think. Butterflies are pretty. But, just exactly how many butterflies does one have to glue down before the well of creativity comes up dry as a bone? I do not do paper crafting to fill a void in my life. I use it as a way that challenges me to think, to clarify my ideas. I also am not afraid to challenge anyone who looks at what I create. Do I create art with my paper crafting? No. Bach created art. Picasso created art. What I do is personal and an expression of what I feel and think. I see paper crafting not as a way to hold something in my hand to show to others or as a way to make videos in order to make money. I do paper crafting as a way to exercise my brain. Do others appreciate what I create? None of my friends are hobby-oriented. But, the friends who like what I create like it because it makes them think, to see things in a different way. Ideas are tools just like paper and scissors. How you use them is the key to creativity. Overusing the same ideas does not build on creativity. It takes away from it. Supplies? There are necessities like scissors, paper and adhesives. But my biggest supplies are my brain and my heart. As for my supply of ideas, I have been lucky enough to have an abundance of them. I hope never to dishonor them by only using a chosen few.

New subbie here hello! I don't have a real problem with tools because I don't really have the budget to buy stuff at the few places where they're sold where I live and if I am buying anything online I have to think long and hard because my husband always interrogates me about how and for what I will use it before he buys it for me (I am at stay at home mom so I don't like to go spending lots of money without telling him) and many things are just super expensive so I see it and leave it. I have a "kids" sticker problem thanks to my mom who gifted me all the ones she had collected from me and my siblings childhood. Distess inks ♡♡♡ I've never even seen one in person hahaha. Omg those papers are sooo cute ♡♡♡ Ive seen people using the foil pen (some buy it at Tuesday Morning so much cheaper)

Your review is so great and SO TRUE!!! I know there are "trading groups". Maybe if someone offered to take your unused items for postage costs or if someone gave you a list of their items that you could trade for could work! I actually like BOTH types of distress inks for different looks. I am having some problems getting NON-Oxide inks. Love your paper pads too - but I gotta stop too! Putting the bits back into your 6x6 is good - otherwise you have "bits" EVERYWHERE. Creativation 2020 is talking about a new gel (Thermoweb?) that doesn't require heat, just a die cutting machine, to use foils. Do you have a video for what you CAN"T live without too?! I know what you mean. I do like the eyelets though and I love embossing powders just to look at:) I was on vacation in the US going to different states but the main place was in Idaho Falls. They had a big Hobby Lobby there and I had told my male cousin who had gone there a few times to get me birthday gifts, that one place that was a must was Hobby Lobby. I live in Denmark so we have this place called Panduro and it gets duller and duller they didn't have all the great stuff I had seen people making videos use. So he set me off at the store this was late June and beginning of July and they had Christmas ornaments:) Well I stayed a few hours and when I went to pay the woman looked super happy as I had piled up a mountain and kept adding to it and I had spent over 500 dollars. I was back the next day and brought my nephew who only came as to not sit at the house as this was not his cup of tea he said. Well I bought for over 300 dollars this time and the funny thing was all the things my nephew had found and when he told me this was one of his favorite stores:) We had to get 2 extra suitcases to go home and pay a pretty penny to the airlines for that. So what have I used of all this wonderful stuff I bought? The scissors I bought. I got 3 different small pointy ones and I use them all the time:) Everything else is in my USA flower box and my USA mix box:) I love everything I have and like to just look at it, but I have scoliosis that is now so bad that it hurts too much even doing what I love to do, using all my great stuff. I also have things I loved too much to ever use:) Like I love lace and can get myself to use it because then I won't have it anymore. Pretty silly but when I was a kid I never used certain things because I knew I wouldn't get more, like the Easy bake cake mixes I had 3, I saved them and the mice ate them and it still hurts me to this day honestly that I never got to taste them. Now I can back cakes in an adult oven and yet all I really want is an easy bake that looks like the one my aunt got me in 1968 and some cake mixes. Thank you for a fun video!!

Also have many blank mini albums. Trying hard to use my stuff though. Gotten better figuring out what I like & not wasting cash on stuff that will just take space.
