Thank you my friend. I am so glad you liked my ideas. You know I didn’t really do much measuring when I made those signature page. One day I sat down at the desk determined to do something about this pile of strips. So I just laid them out and began sorting through them and began seeing colors and patterns to go together and just began to play with them. I don’t know if you realized it or not but the last page you created it was your digitals on the one I made. I don’t think I’m a genius. Besides if I am then you are one also because I learned a lot about using your eyes to bring different things together to make a piece of art. Love you my friend.

For your loose papers make a travelers notebook style where you can slip them under a stretchy band and be able to take them out or move them and of course add to it.

You should do a no sew journal for the pages you want to keep. Simply add elastic bands to the spine and you can slip the pages in and out

For an idea journal for the pages, you could do the pages in a journal using a midori style binding so you can remove and add pages easily. (I see I’m not the first one to suggest this. 😉) I hope you have a delightful day. Love&hugs 🩵

My idea books are 3 ring note books and page protectors. The papers slide in and out without stress. Love the button lace and the coordinating belly bands are great.

Hi Gayle, I love your edge-trim book you made/are working on, and the idea of a way to make an idea book with pages. I think a binder with polyvue sheets in it would work well because you can see the decoration/idea, and easily remove it from the sheet if you want a closer view. I'm hoping you have a lovely day. I use an altered book for ideas and edging on the same book. Everything is there in one place. It is a little thick and almost time to start volume two😊. Love this triple belly and the edgings too.

These are great. You could add mini pockets on some of the wider belly bands.

You could make like a travelers notebook type journal so you could add and take out pages whenever you want. (And I believe you measured and said 4 1/2 and 4 1/2 is 8😂😂) I hope your family has a safe flight! ❤

Great to watch you having fun playing. 😊 I made a midori/travellers notebook type of thing, using the video for your original ephemera folder. Then I used elastic headbands (the very large hair ties) to hold the pages in, twine or elastic wouldworkjust as well. Very simple and easy to make. ❤❤xx

You could make a journal with holes only in the top and bottom of the spine, then use elastic for the binding by tying in a knot then you can slide the pages in and out but they will still be held in by the elastic

Hi Gayle. Always good to learn new ways of doing old ideas. These will add more variety to our journals. Thinking I might try some book pages and guest checks (not sure these will be long enough on a full size page but like you I like different size pages. (Another way of adding variety to our journals). And I wanted to mention...you know how we cut off the binding on gathered lace. Well that binding looks great weaved in and out of the punched holes on the page edge. Also on edges of bigger tags and journal cards. 😊 Could have watched you for another hour. Good morning girlfriend 🌞🌞🌞. You have an edge book!!!!! AMAZING 💜💜💜. I am in awe, wow wow wow. I'm trying to figure out how I can make all your creations in my lifetime, 😅😅😅. I hope to have another 20 yrs. give or take. I just did a bunch of fussy cutting and there were a few belly-bands that I thought I could jazz up &&& lots of belly-band size scraps. I'm working on a prayer/Bible study journal for a friend and I want to add a couple belly-bands. I 💕💕💕 the 3-part ones. I'm going to take your advice and get a manual die cut machine instead of the Scan-n-Cut. And I guess Temu has loads of the die-cut thingies for cheap. And the videos that demonstrated them showed that they're decent quality and cut really good. Ok, I'm done babbling lol 😂😂😂. Thx for sharing your amazing creations 😊😊😊

When you have kids you think...will I ever sleep again. Oh , yes when I retire. Lie, lie, lie. Now that you can sleep as much as you like, you just can't sleep period. I feel you. I'm the same way. Most nights no sleep.

Gayle, Natasha at Treasure Books made a book/pouch, with elastic to hold pages inside, making it possible to easily and quickly add pages and/or take them out. I don’t remember the title of her video, but you should be able to find it, using the “newest” feature on her page, cause it was fairly recent. Edited to add: I couldn’t find Natasha’s, but in my search I found one by Camelia Crafts Designs, it’s titled Easy Junk Journal Cover with Elastic Binding from an old book. RachandBella Crafts has one too, but I feel it’s much more involved. Camelia’s looks much easier to make, and it holds heaps of pages.

Hi Gayle. When we were in lock down for COVID, I started an “idea journal” since I loved all the new stuff I saw. What I did was took a pastel yellow sheet of paper, on top right corner, I put name of designer and project. Then I wrote directions (measurements etc). Once I made the pocket or whatever, I slipped it in a page protector. I don’t have mine in a 3 ring binder, I just put a ring through top so I can easily flip through, but a 3 ring binder would work too. That way, I can just take the project I want to duplicate and have directions just in case I forgot how to make. It works well for me. Might be good at retreat ?.

Gayle, I have the solution. Make one of those journals with the elastic cords. You can add pages that way.

Use one of your beautiful journal covers but use elastic to hold them in.
