Inspired by Emily at Vintage Polka Dot Shop, I'm making a little folio pocket journal. Thanks for crafting along with me!

A tip from me... lay your tape, sticky side up, center your spine onto the strip of tape. Then you can easily place the paper next to the edge exactly where you want to.

Oh good heavens Gayle, you may have opened Pandora's box inviting folks to visit you. LOL Does your "little corner of the world" have room for all 21 thousand of us? I know you and your special subbie guest will have a most remarkable time together. I just saw Diane Shaw's video of her sweet tribute to you. So very touching and inspiring. Love, love these folio's Gayle. I don't know about others, but I love watching you think through your process. It makes all of us just tipping our toe into the journaling waters see that even the pros sometime struggle. Great video.

Hi Donna! Yes, Diane is such a sweetie! She about brought me to tears! Hugs to you, my friend, and can’t wait until the day you come my way to visit! 😁. Big, big hugs to you! 😘❤️

After my first attempt with this project went haywire 3 times 😉, I completely started over and this time went to my big mat and taped down the card, leaving room enough for the spine. I remembered Nik the Booksmith saying to use the space of a ruler on its side to use as a guide to allow for space to bend. This works a treat. I also took off 1/8 inch from the outer edges to allow for fit when folded in. I gave up on using tape to fix the spine in place and used thin card instead and placed fabric over that. It turned out beautifully.

It never dawned on me that someone of your caliber would consider your own actions a mistake and need to address or fix this issue or possibly need to figure things out. I am so impressed. I have friends that would kill if anyone saw that they could make a mistake. Thank you. I will never feel depressed about my mistakes again. You are my new hero!!!

I love this folio. It's such a great idea. I sure did enjoy watching you create yours. It can be used for so many things. The little strip that is at the top of some papers is called the branding strip. It's printed with the manufacturer's info..such as..the name of the company, title of the paper line, the name of that page, etc. I have heard some people call it the selvage edge but in the scrapbooking world, it's the branding strip. I'm behind so I'm off to watch part 2. Hugs..Linda

Thanks for the inspiration...again!...I received some beautiful Calender cards with florals on them that a friend had saved...she didn't know what for til she saw me asking for things you might be discarding....and she sent about 9 to me...(some she had already discarded) They have beautiful florals images on them..I wanted to make her a thankyou gift...these are a bit smaller than your project...but will certainly work. I want to fill them with inspirational quotes, notepads and journaling tags....all done in floral accents and lace. I think she will love it....she is a caregiver to her 90 year old mom, and sometimes she needs to know we care! and that she is doing an awesome job! See what you started?! You touch so many lives with your videos...other than those who watch and learn ....you are "awesome"! Thanks Gayle!

I have followed along with you on this little mini series and loved it!! . I enjoyed all the inspiration, and from two different artists. My favorite part was using supplies I have that I just don’t normally use because it’s a different style than I usually do. I am going to use the folio as an idea folio. I’m going to keep the ephemera to remind me to use different materials and different styles. I too added pages to put page layouts for inspiration. Thank you Gail! I pray you and your family are doing well and staying healthy. Our family is just getting over Covid. This was my first project after Covid. I couldn’t wait. You didn’t disappoint
