Playing with the technique of adhering napkin to card stock. I first saw this technique on Purple Cottage Crafts on YT. I try a few techniques I hadn't seen before toward the end of the video.

I have used this method before and love doing it. It’s a great way to make your own cards or if you just want to fussy cut something on your napkin. Since this is a bit older, you may have discovered it already but your craft iron probably does not get hot enough. With a reg. iron, just put it on the hottest setting and it will cut time in half if not more. I even put the on playing cards which turned out amazing!

I’m so glad your daughter is doing better! I have a craft iron too, but I often use a full size thrift store iron. The usually don’t steam anymore, and they cover more territory at once, thus saving time. Just use it when your husband isn’t around.i have a few items that are like that. I still use them when he is around also. It’s so sweet of them to buy these things, when I only mention maybe once that I think something is cool. He is so proud when he surprises me. Gosh, I wish you lived here and we could go thrifting together. Anybody out there that lives in the San Francisco east bay who would like to play? Bless everyone, and my love to all. There are lots of KZfaq videos about opening Etsy shops. Just beware, some of them are scammers. My daughter started an Etsy shop, but it’s going slooooow. I think her biggest issue is her lack of marketing in social media. That’s what I tried to explain that to her, but of course she wants todo it her way. She has that same left brain as her dad. Both believe the know better. Then there is right brained me, who watches every video, and could teach anything, but seldom sit down and do the work myself. I think one of the better teachers is I’m a cool mom. When multiple things come up that are similar, almost like magnets, it called “synchronicity” I think it’s kind of like you said about the universe. It’s a matter of the energy of two items attracting each other. O Lordy. I’m back to babbling. Blessings to you and your family❣️🙏

Beautiful napkins. BUt i think I will do the modpodge way of adhering the napkins to cardstock. But I guess there is an advantage to this way. Maybe. I dont know. Looks like a lot of work to me. Lol I just like modpodging stuff. Lol hmmm now after seeing your blue and white napkins I might try it. I have a huge iron and it gets quite hot so maybe it will be pretty fast. Ok I will try it. Thanks dear lady. Ok dang I keep adding more to comments. So now you have essentially made scrapbook paper like I spend a fortune on from big box stores. Now I can just iron some napkins to my paper. Holy moley. What an experiment. Thanks so much Gayle

Oooo! Those transfers sent me straight back to my childhood! As others have mentioned, the designs are transferred onto fabric using an iron. When I was very little...decades ago...and learning to dress myself, my mom used cute little iron on transfers to let me know the front of my panties. She was quite crafty! I miss her so much and I'm a blubbery mess right now, but such a precious memory of how she encouraged and taught me to do things on my own.

I've done this technique using plastic wrap for years. Just learned how to do the same but using mod podge. Some put the napkin down on top of the PM while it's wet, but I wait for it to dry then lay the napkin down, parchment paper and iron! I like the MP way better. Don't have to worry about getting the plastic on your iron, which I have managed to do. I turn my iron up as high as it will go. I've done card stock and recently ironed onto the thin canvas' from the $ Tree. Also did one on the canvas with the wood backing. I found I had to find something that would fit into the back of the canvas to make it all the same height. Also do this on tiles. Coasters or hang with a ribbon or jute, twine. Whatever you want.

So glad you daughter is better I will keep praying for her. I love this technique and I do save the backs of the napkins for background texture or sometimes I use a large background stamp on it and use it the wrap up my Etsy orders but I use a "Sticky Note" to pull the backs off because then it doesn't tare on me. Thanks for taking time out to share this and love how excited you were making them.

Hi Gayle, thanks for sharing! I found an easier and quicker way to do this, not my idea just saw it on another YT and it works. It’s a craft glue stick! You must cover the entire card stock edge to edge with the glue stick, and it does work! I also found it neater to wrap the napkin around the back and glue it down. Enjoyed our chat, thanks again. Love the napkins too! The tape trick is cool!
