My two worlds collide in this super fun project using vintage book illustrations and polymer clay! With a minimal amount of supplies (less than $20) and no experience needed, you can make beautiful DIY wall hangings, tags Etc. with professional looking results. It's fun, it's creative and it's addicting. Polymer clay bakes in your own oven or a toaster oven, so it's a project anyone can do at home.
This is typical of the type of class I run at Wild Salamander Arts Center & a perfect project to do while stuck inside during a worldwide pandemic. ;-)
I found the images you see on the Public Domain Website:
www.biodiversitylibrary.org
*IMPORTANT NOTE:
YOU MUST USE IMAGES PRINTED ON A LASER PRINTER
USE REGULAR PRINTER PAPER - NOT PHOTO PAPER
If you have an inkjet printer, watch my video and then adapt the project using one of these techniques designed for inkjet printers:

Hi Everyone- After over a year of answering amazing questions and receiving incredible support, I really need to address the most re-occurring question. CAN I USE AN INKJET PRINTER? The answer is always going to be NOOOOO! I don't say that in a bratty way, just in the most clear way possible. The way an laser handles ink vs. an inkjet is why this technique works. I've personally troubleshot behind the scenes and every single time it has been the printer! Some people don't know the difference between inkjet and laser and that causes confusion. Please know what kind of printer you have because that will make all the difference. If you don't know what type of printer you have google the make and model number of your printer and ask the question "is my (insert make and model of printer) an inkjet or laser printer. The answer will usually come up. Also Laser printers have big distinct ink trays and a drum...if you don't have that you probably don't have a laser. There's a lot of great content in the comment section from people who have added to this discussion. This is an amazing way to transfer but certainly if you are using air dry clay or have an inkjet it's not for you. BUT having said that, there are videos for transfers using both, so even if you just get inspired to make the project, don't fret, you can still make it, just find the best way to transfer the image for your printer or your clay. Thanks for your comments, participation and support. This class has been so wonderful to share with all of you. xo- Michelle

this is super excellent cool. I bought a bunch of clay with the intent to sculpt things but... Turns out I'm not so great at that. Finally my clay can see some use~~.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Vintage paper and Clay are right up my alley! I also want to add that I love the authenticity of your video making. The clanging of the cookie cutters and having to leave the room for a cup of water was hilarious! That would totally be me if I made videos. I hope this comment finds you well and that you continue to make these awesome tutorials.
