Free craft printables are more important than ever as many people have more time on their hands to craft, but may not have many craft materials to use.
To help those in that situation, I have stepped up my free craft printables to try and publish a new craft tutorial each week and also, give you the free printable design that I use in the video.
This does of course mean you need access to paper and a printer.
This week's free printable is another one that works well in a straight cut shredder but, you can easily cut your srips by hand.
My free printables are all designed by me from scratch and are there for your personal use only.
This week's design is from one of my abstract paintings which I scanned and used as the base design.
To access my free printables, you need to watch the video to listen for the password. You will need it to open the page on my website where the printable will be. Each printable I publish has it's own password protected page.
You will need to read the associated blog post on my website to get the links to the free printables pages.
I hope you enjoy this craft tutorial and find it helps occupy a little bit of your time while we all stay at home during these strange times.

I have made this bracelet but instead of using a stocking l used a two inch strip of t-shirt material from an old shirt. I hand sewed the ends to form band.

Hi Terri-Marie, That’s a great idea - and I guess it has enough give in the fabric to go over your hand ok. Thank you for sharing your idea - much appreciated. 🙏

Yes. There was lots of flexibility. I was able to stretch fabric before placing beads. Then tighten before sewing end. I had enough tension to keep beads firm and aligned when worn, but able to expand over the hand when needed. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas with us.

Oh brilliant - sounds lovely, hopefully people will see this and will have another method of threading their beads. Thanks so much - will see if I can pin your comment to the top so more people can learn about your idea. Thanks again for sharing. 😍

You are so very welcome💕and thank you for taking time to reach out. I will be sharing more as time goes on, even after this crisis is over because it’s a great way give people something that I have enjoyed doing. And I LOVE painting! Can’t draw to save my life but sploshing colour around is very therapeutic, especially as we all could go slowly mad at home right now! 🤪 Thanks again for watching. 😍

Very clever and lovely. You can get the same elastic type result if you cut up a tee shirt, which will also roll up into itself. You are a great crafter.

I love this bracelet and bead idea. So pretty! ❤ I do have one question though. Would I need to put some type of protective finish or coating on the beads before I start to string them? If so, what coating should I use? Or will they hold up nicely without a coating? Thanks!
@RainbowLane
@RainbowLane Жыл бұрын
Thank you Lucinda - I appreciate that. I often use glossy photo paper to make my beads so they do have a shine. But you can seal them to make them splash proof - I use Mod Podge Dimensional Magic a lot for sealing beads but you could use a product such as Triple Thick which is very good. Or Diamond Glaze. Thanks for watching. 🙏😍

Beautiful!! You’re just so clever! I’m definitely trying this....mahalo for the free designs too! I’ve been on a bead frenzy lately...just leave everything out and make a bead or a few or whatever throughout the day and night lol...in between my other chores and projects...by the end of the week I have a pretty good cache of different shapes and sizes. I have a tip for you and anyone else who reads this. Go to the paint department and get the free color samples! And the free booklets...the booklets are super glossy too. Have a blessed night, or day! Much aloha! ❤️🙏🌈🌺🌊🏄‍♀️🤗

Thank you Grace, I always love your enthusiasm! 💕And thanks for the tips. It’s a shame we live so far apart, we could go out on free craft stuff safaris getting glossy brochures and samples from all the stores! I sometimes really push the boundaries getting free wallpaper samples that get longer and longer until I have half the roll😂😂😂. Thanks for being here and contributing ideas - happy crafting!😍

Rainbow Lane awww, thanks! Yes indeed, it would be fun to have a crafty partner that’s enthusiastic to go on freeebie adventures lol I’ll have to get some wallpaper samples too. Anything free, I’m down for! Next go to is always goodwill...I like getting cheap stuff/furniture/boxes/lamps/frames etc and making them amazing. I always end up liking them too much to sell tho lol. ...getting better at letting go I think. Another freebie hint...the health food stores here have brown cardboard straws now...so when I get a smoothie or something I take a few...the paper sticks really well to them...not so slippery like the plastic ones. It’s 8pm here now. Tired, but too early to sleep or I’d wake up at 3 or 4 am. Have a great evening ??...or wherever you are, sweet dreamzzz. 🥱😴🤤❤️🧡💛💚💙💜❣️

Oh my goodness, we are so alike Grace! Even with the wanting to go to bed early!😍 I don't mind waking up at 4am when it's daylight though, my favourite part of the day in early summer. Thanks for your ideas, I'm sure you'll inspire other people to follow what you do. Wish the world was smaller (and actually open for business right now😡!!!!!!) would be great to see a Hawaii sunset and talk crafts. I have so many lovely people who come on here but we are all spread so far apart. Thank goodness for the internet - long may it last👀.🌻

I know it’s a pain but it’s one way of finding out anything you’ve missed. Or hit the transcript button and read through that. My newer videos are recorded at full volume - not sure if that makes a difference, because all my videos sound ok on my devices so I can’t tell. But thanks so much for taking time to tell me. 💕🙏

This is frustrating, you get to the end and don't show us how to tie it off, you speed up the video so we have no idea what you did, exactly how did you tie off the ends?
@RainbowLane
@RainbowLane 4 жыл бұрын
Hi again Patrica Sue, the ends are tied in an ordinary knot. I can show how to tie an ordinary knot next time I make a bracelet video if that would help. I assumed (maybe wrongly) people know how to tie knots and might get frustrated if I waste time showing something I assumed was so obvious, that’s why I speed it up - but maybe I shouldn’t be so presumptuous!!!🤪 Maybe I will make a video with a new free printable design and at the end I will slow it down when I tie the knot. Thank you for sharing your experience because that’s how us creators get to make things better next time🙏
