Wow! That's such an interesting idea! The loo paper one is my fav. Although the serviette method is really great too. You're such a creative guru. Lol I empathize with you about the wrinkles. I can relate!! And the heat wouldn't be too much fun either. I really love your natural 'warts and all' videos. Thanks for sharing. 😊💖☀️ P.S. My tips for the heat are soaking your feet in a bucket of ice water, having a cool shower, putting your face under the cold water tap, and keeping up your fluid intake. These are things we Aussies do. We don't all have aircon here, either. But it certainly helps.

Thank you again Susan - I appreciate you watching my videos. The loo paper one does work well but its just a bit messy with the glue! Its not TOO hot at the moment - we’ve had a day of sudden heavy rain storms interspersed with sun. Very dull again right now. To be honest, I’m not that keen on air con - lived with it for 10 years in Canada and it made me very ill - I can’t go into our supermarkets in the UK in summer because they have it cranked up stupidly high and my lungs rebel. So my husband does all the shopping.🤗😂Thanks again for watching my videos, hope you are all coping OK with the lockdown. I’m really worried that they’ll do the same to us again this autumn🤨Take care down under😍

You are very welcome and I appreciate you watching and commenting. It has actually cooled down here now thank goodness. Our summers don’t really get hot enough for long enough to justify air con, although our supermarkets do all have it now. I do get why people love air con but it has a really bad effect on my chest and makes me ill. Are your Aunt and Uncle from the USA originally? Enjoy what is left of summer and thanks again for watching. 🙏😎.

Hi Gilly !! Firstly, thank you sooo much for answering my question and with such a beautiful result. I know why you used blues this tutorial, because blues are MY favourite colours too. I've never been mentioned in anyone's youtube before so that was pretty thrilling ! I'm working on having time to do the turquoise beads this week, I had to finish my mother's resin and polymer clay ( two different projects) for her 80th birthday, but this week I think I can do something for me :) Please keep making such gorgeous inspiring projects, and I hope your heatwave ( sooo not a heatwave in Australia at those temps) is over soon.

I’ve got an elderly mum too so I know all about having to make time for yourself! Yep - definitely take some time this coming week 😍 Thanks for your lovely comments and I will be back with another tutorial soon - just having a bit of a breather at the moment as life gets overwhelming at times doesn’t it. Oh and summer has given way to fall here but still having nice days though. Much love to you and happy crafting! 💕

Gilly, thoroughly enjoy your tutorials as they are so informing. Thank you for sharing your talent to us, plus giving us free gifts of your templates to download. I’ve cut so many strips with my Fiskar cutter, but would like now to use one of the many machines you see other people use. What do you use? Recommend? I’m not “techy”, so I am a little fearful. Thank you. Jerry Lynn
@RainbowLane
@RainbowLane 2 жыл бұрын
Hi deltalady, thank you, you are most welcome - glad you find them useful. Of all the cutters available I have used two - Cricut and Silhouette. I started out with Cricut many years ago but moved on to Silhouette because at the time, we were not able to import our own designs into the Cricut software. I also didn't like the software and had loads of technical problems in the early years. It was all very clunky and clumsy but I think times have changed and I'm sure Cricut allows you to use your own designs now. And I've heard that Cricut machines are absolutely brilliant now. Silhouette is great and I have stuck with them for my last three machines. The learning curve is quite steep but there are lots of very easy to follow tutorials on KZfaq. It can get costly replacing blades and cutting mats all the time but I would not be without my machine, it's defintely a brilliant investment for serious crafters. If you are thinking of getting one, I would recommend really researching online all the machines available and seeing if they do whatever it is you want them to do. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching - always appreciated. 🙏💕

Hi gilly, I tried to find the two paper beads strips for round beads like the red ones. I couldn't find it.on your site. I only found the three strip template. Can you just tell me the sizes in mm for each strip. Is it 3/4 in to 1/2 inch and 1/2 inch to 1/4 maybe. ? Or what are sizes of each strip?

For the beads made with toilet tissue, you mentioned that you make a hole to eventually drill all the way through. Can you describe that process? Do you make a hole on each side first, or just one side? Thank you!
@RainbowLane
@RainbowLane 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Laurie, I just make a small indentation in the top of each bead so my drill bit has a target once they are dried out and ready to drill. I don’t put a hole in the bottom because I would never be able to get it exactly opposite the top one. And there is no need anyway. As long as you are careful, the drill goes through in a straight line. Thanks for watching and I hope you make some lovely beads.🙏💕

Thanks for sharing this video, i tried to download the files for the large paper beads, you offered, by i don't understand how to get that done, so could you just tell me the measurements here, meaning the length & width of each of the 3 paper strips, thank you.
@RainbowLane
@RainbowLane Жыл бұрын
You are welcome. It's very easy to download the template. Just click on the link in my blog post about round paper beads (the link to my blog is on the end screen of this video). It will take you to Google Drive where you simply save the files and then you can print them. Unfortunately, I can't give you the measurements at the moment apart from telling you the base measurement is 3/4 inch. If you take two sheets of A3 paper and tape them together to make a long sheet, that would give you a sheet 33 inches long (only two inches shorter than my strips). Then you can draw out a long thin triangle starting with a base width of 3/4 inch going up to a point. Once you've done that, divide your paper into three equal parts, cut them up and then measure the width at the points where the strips need to line up to roll the beads. Then you can work with those measurements on A4 paper. They won't be exactly like mine because I have a curved taper on the ends instead of a point but you should get strips you can work with. Hope that makes sense! Sorry I can't be more specific but I don't have time to go into the files and do the measurements myself right now. Good luck! 😍💕

@@RainbowLane Thanks for your reply, but i guess i'll try my best to figure out on how to make the correct measurements, it won't do me any good to download anything, as i don't have a printer, anyhow i'll think of something, unless maybe one of your readers here, can tell me the measurements, thanks just the same. Also i don't get what you mean by (A3 paper) or (A4paper), thanks anyhow.
@RainbowLane
@RainbowLane Жыл бұрын
Hi J.M. England - A3 paper measures 29.7 cm wide x 42 cm tall and A4 paper measures 21cm wide x 29.7 tall. They are standard paper sizes in the UK and many other countries. I believe similar equivilents in the USA, for example, are called Letter Size and Tabloid. As I said before it is quite easy to join two A3 (Tabloid size) pieces of paper together and mark out a very tall, thin triangle from a 3/4 inch base. The triangle should be around 32 inches long (or just under if you join two pieces of A3) - so very tall and skinny. Once you have done that, you can then divide the triangle into three equal parts, cut them up and then take the measurement from them. I'm so sorry I can't be more help but I am full time carer to my 94 year old mother and I have very little time to do anything else. I'm sure you can figure it out - I have faith in you! 😍🙏
