We diagnose common problems on these Craftsman snow blower with Powermore engine.
These units are the same as many other MTD, Yard Machines, Troy Bilt and Craftsman units with Huayi carburetors.
There are both 24" and 26" models shown on this diagnosis
Replace carburetor if it has leaked into crankcase or if it is in really bad shape

Never leave fuel in tank. When winter is gone. Especially in craftman snowblower. The solution is change the oil and the spark plug. I did it with my snowblower got the same issue. If snowblower no starts bleed the carburetor a little bit.

All the way full with ethanol free fuel is a good way to do it also. If your going to drain it, make sure to drain from the carburetor and blow out the whole aystem also. Thanks for watching!

Im currently diagnosing same 24” craftsman 208 I grabbed from my aunt today doing a little research. Starts right up but sounds like throttle is stuck wide open on Run setting. Guessing it’s float needle stuck?? Thanks for the carb part number pinned up there, may just replace it rather than clean..

It is likely a gummed up carbureto4, we see the throttle stuck all the time on units like these. Check that throttle plate moves freely first

We have a new carburetor, fuel line and fuel in the snowblower but it is still shutting off after a few minutes can you give any advice. Even the gas cap has been replaced. This has been an ongoing problem with our craftsman snowblower we got from Sears

I would check and see what you are looking after a few minutes. Check the spark first after it dies, if still getting spark you know your loosing compression or fuel supply. Next use carburetor cleaner to try and keep it running after it has died, if it stays running you know your issue is fuel supply, fuel quality or an air leak. If it won't stay running and you have already checked spark and fuel you know your loosing compression so check for a stuck valve or bad head gasket. Thanks for watching!
