I still have the original close to my heart scrapbook paper that I purchased more than 20 years ago. It was so beautiful that I simply had to have it. It was a dear friend who taught me how to make cards and how to scrapbook using close to my heart.

My heart goes out to you. My first experience goes back to 1997. I was invited to a DOTS party. The scrapbooking bug bit me. That company changed their name to Close to My Heart. I love this company’s products. There are a bunch more! You will be fine. Mourning is healthy. 😢

Erin, I’d never watched you before and today you showed up in my feed, so I watched. I’m glad you waited until some time went on before you posted. I have a friend who was a consultant for CTMH. Lately, she’d been questioning why she’s still doing it, as sales had gone down, and she was also maintaining 3 other jobs. Bottom line was, she loved CTMH. When we heard the news, we were shocked, to say the least, and that first week was crazy! People who hadn’t bought in awhile were coming out of the woodwork with questions and panic. It was a wild and stressful week. It has calmed down a little, but now the panic buying and the panic waiting for restocks is at full throttle. As a customer, I found CTMH only about 4 years ago. I love their designs, I love their kits, I love their storage items, and I love love love their stamps and dies. The packaging for their stamps and dies is second to none. I love the smell of it (yes, I know that’s silly!!), I love that you can clearly see what’s in the package, and I love that the dies are clipped apart and on magnet sheets. The only other company that I’m aware of that does that is Gina K Designs. To me, scrapbooking will never go away. I’m a cardmaker and journaler, but in my mind, those are just smaller canvasses on which to scrapbook. As long as we have the products and creative makers to show us the way, we’ll all keep creating. I hope you find another company to support or other products to feature, but in the meantime, I hope you’ll continue to create using your stash of CTMH products. After all, it’s not about the exact product, but finding the inspiration, learning the technique, and creating and making it our own. It’s also about the friendships we forge along the way. It’s definitely going to be a huge transition for many, but I pray everyone finds a suitable solution for themselves and their families. Keep bringing the joy and the inspiration. I wish you all the best!

I recently have done my first scrapbooking and can truly say that your videos have inspired me a lot. I didn’t have much of the supplies, to be honest - I didn’t know how it would work, so I tried not to buy a lot in case I didn’t like it or it didn’t go well, you know… but I was so impressed, I was so excited to try, that it turned out amazing (as for the first try). And I thought to myself that what you do is not just scrapbooking, it’s pure art! I’m sure you’ll find a way to replace this huge gap in your heart. Just please don’t stop and bring your wonderful ideas into life! I believe we need all this, because in these days, our photos got lost in the phone memories, and scrapbooking helps to revive them and cherish even more

3 months on, I hope you have accepted the Stampin' Up offer for all CTMH demonstrators and are happily exploring the new products available to you. I believe that this is an amazing opportunity for the Stampin' Up demonstrators as well as it will give far more diversity of product. I didn't start buying CTMH products right away, I watched because I enjoyed YOU and your creative style...I feel like you've become a friend. I've actually been scrapbooking for many years but I had to put it aside for a while due to some serious health problems with a family member that needed help so that didn't allow me the time to scrapbook. I was so inspired by your style and that got me back into the hobby again, so thank you! After a while I began ordering some of the CTMH products that you inspired me to use and have really enjoyed them. I'm so sorry Erin. I found you randomly on YT a few years ago and always like the way you have never rambled on and get straight to the point of your product and layouts. You were the only CTMH person I ever ordered from. Your videos are professional. I did look through the catalog a few weeks ago to see if there was anything I had to have to support you one last time, but either I had it already or I just don't need more of it. It is so sad when a company that has been around for years goes out of business. It is a huge loss.

Erin I have said before how you are my American twin- we r both vet nurses, have horses, scrapbooking businesses etc. Just wanted to let you know that the same thing happened to a lot of Aussies not that long ago, when the company I had been with for 18 years also closed at short notice. I was a SU demonstrator 20 years ago and then tragedy struck which ended my scrapbooking. I didn't do anything creative for the longest time but eventually started doing fine art again(I've done art my whole life). Then about 3 months ago I decided to make a collage and well one thing led to another and I pulled out all of my stamping stuff after having it packed away for many years. As you all can probably relate to, we are talking a craft store's worth of supplies. So now I'm combining my fine art skills with my scrapbook/journal skills and have so many great memories of those SU days and the relationships forged. Talk about going full circle! So even though I taught using a different company, the fundamental bonds we all share over the love of creating art and sharing it with others will always be there. The creative journey is quite unexpected sometimes. Cheers to the next chapter!

You are so correct, it does feel like a death. I was a consultant for 15 years and while I chose to back off and no longer teach or sell the product I am still a customer. CTMH has been a part of my life since 2005 and I am going to miss the gang.

Very classy closing your CTMH business. I never used the products but adapted designs, ideas for my own pages. Techniques and tools you used were very helpful also. You were my favorite go to for ideas. God bless.

Your videos with all your teaching elements and the quality with which you make them are awesome. They are so positive and happy and give me joy to watch. I am so sad about Close to My Heart closing--you introduced me to the products and I love them. You are so very talented with designing things--I am looking forward to many more videos. Very sad for all the other CTMH consultants too. Scrapbooking in all its many forms including card making is only going to keep growing. I look forward to watching you in the future.
