I recall Ørum back from Afghanistan as a young but very capable platoon leader. good to se him agein. he aged better then me :D

All Danish officers have jumpwings (allegedly parachuting became mandatory to replace horse riding training) and will get official Danish jumpwings. Other soldiers, including conscripts, can get volunteer civilian jumptraining or obtain foreign jumpwings (I believe I got offered training that would result in Dutch jumpwings during national service). Regulations say you can wear two jumpwings (like two foreign or a Danish and foreign) on your chest and in addition you may wear the British, Australian, or New Zealand jumpwings on your right arm if you earned one of those. It’s mostly officer and special forces who get the Danish jumpwings, we don’t have any convential paratroopers although this Light Battalion was later certified as “airmobile” and got a patch for that.

I think that’s brilliant all officers have that capability and training, same for the British army you wear your British wings and you are allowed to wear one set of foreign wings.

@@CombatReadyHQ The wings are fine. But what you should notice is the patch on his left chest pocket. This denotes the very tough and gruelling course "Enkeltkæmper" - a very tough course only for the select few focusing on the abilities of the single soldier. Something with no sleep, no food, no warm clothes - you know the drill. The danish "Jægerkorps" is conducting these courses and invite graduates to test for unit.

@10:40 Remember one of the most important things in a good group: Be there for the buddy, instantly, without he's asking for help. Company patch on the left shoulder bc of getting it closest to your heart. @24:00 KAP's speech = GOOSEBUMPS!!! You should make a series on JDR. :)

so a down/up grade of the recon unit from Holsterbro. that did recon, sabo, infiltration and smaller skrimish with 6 troops (1sgt, 1 pointman, 2heavys+medics and 2 carl gustav) +2 recon vehicle. would like to see their operation specification. fortes fortina juvat.

There is an interview with the guy who joined the Foreign Legion after seven years in the SEALS, where he says the best soldiers he ever met was the Danish Mechinf he was stationed with in the Baltics. I suspect he meant best "regular" soldiers, and it is amusing to hear the right-wing ultra-patriotic host say "So they are as good as ours".
