Come and experience the Craigyhill Festival of Culture and world record attempt at the tallest bonfire in the world.
We chat to the organisers, tourists from as far away as the USA coming to the port town of Larne in Northern Ireland to take part in the celebrations.
These celebrations take part in Northern Ireland every 11th July and are an important part of Ulster Protestant tradition, dating back to the year 1690, when beacons were lit to Guide the Protestant King William into Carrickfergus Harbour.

I'm an Irish Catholic from Cork. I love this island, both North and South. I respect the protestant Unionist for loving who they are and the heritage. The EU hates the words nationalist. You would be welcome at next year's one, the organisers are trying to make it a welcoming event for all, no burning of emblems or effigies (that only happens at a very small number of bonfires and is decreasing) there were people in attendance from all over the world so our southern neighbours would be made most welcome

@@nornironnomad I would dispute that unfortunately. The burning of tricolours is part and parcel of the 11th night celebrations. I was in Sandy Row this year and some of the vitriol was deeply depressing.

@@Byron5369-k8p more and more bonfires are turning away from flag burning, and there were no symbols on this one . Unfortunately there are people on both sides who like to stoke the fire , no pun intended, and there are plenty of examples of Unionist symbols being burnt in August , so one side is as bad as another.
