@AZVIDEOZ First TEC needs to get past its cut-and-paste congreegationalism. The local episcopal church has replaced the Nicene Creed with a sort of political platform. And the building, a very traditional carpenry gothic edifice on the outside, is being 'renovated' on the inside.

Yes. Agreed. Sometimes the Apostolic Creed is even substituted. In such cases, I recite it anyway while the substitute is being read by the others. Sometimes it makes me feel petty, but I think it's so foundational we can't just abandon it. Same with the Nicene creed.

The depth and thought of these liturgies really makes one gag at the superficial vanity of modern "worship services". One take a commercial business concert entertainment approach, the other seeks to put theology into practice. Oh Lord help us.

The Mexican blend at Walmart. But there's no Walmart here, so I buy the Safeway brand. Kroger's is icky.

Where can I get those books you showed at 4:20 & 5:30? The Roman mass and that illustrated guide?

@DrGero15 Good question. Its name is just The Roman Mass. I found it on ebay, searching for pre-1955 Roman Missal.

I certainly agree that Thomas Cranmer was an excellent liturgist. I read that, at his trial before his martyrdom, he was accused first of having a Lutheran view of the Eucharist, and that his view changed to the Zwinglian view. Grammar responded that his view was Zwinglian from 1549 forward. Personally, I prefer the 1549 and 1928 American BCP liturgies to the other because I see a Lutheran or Orthodox view of the Real Presence in the New Testament. Still, Cranmer was a genius of sorts. Thanks for the video.

Cranmer had a Reformed understanding of the Eucharist. In this regard, Lutherans are more “catholic” on the doctrine of Real Presence. Having said that, I love the English Prayer Book.

Reformed = receive the Body and Blood of Christ spiritually in the heart by faith, only believers. Lutheran = receive the true Body and Blood of Christ orally, both believers and unbelievers.
