This video focuses on Future Frenzy, which in this prototype is called "Future 1", or "Fast Forward". This level's secret area, accessed through Warp Room 6 in the retail version, turns out to originally have been a death route. Unfortunately, with the prototype as it is, this death route is inaccessible, due to the platform you're supposed to use to access it being disabled. But that's nothing a little modding can't fix...

This alpha has been such an amazing find for the community! Here's hoping we'll some day find the proto with the different warp room.

Im hopin' for that "Pre-Alpha" Crash 3 too. Green Warp Room and maybe... the OG STYLE Crash 2 bonus rounds with Gee Wiz in it.

The sad thing is there are hundreds of people who have these AND MORE in their collection, but they won't share them with the world. I know these collectors. They sit on these items and are proud that they're the only ones who know about them. It's a selfish and pathetic thing.

Sometimes it's even a case of sad ignorance. I had a modified ps1 as kid and I swear God im not making things up, the store where my dad bought me some unofficial CDs probably downloaded from sites that at times could have had beta or alpha. I found out recently i had gold in my hands: My Dragon Ball GT Final Bout... allowed me to unlock Baby Vegeta just by finishing the story (i find NO footage online of anyone else doing this) T'ai Fu allowed me to freely navigate the map (i discovered it was possible in the beta) Capcom vs Marvel unlocked unslought as playable character NOT. FN. JOKING. But I thought it was normal. How a 8 years old me thought my copy had something weird? I came to know it wasn't like that just recently. And those games don't work anymore. Even in my pc it reads nothing. So i can't do shit about it T.T Or i would share them. Sometimes we had gem we ignore they were gems.... and are now broken cds

I think this was going to be like Crash Bandicoot 2 where you find the entrance to the secret warp room world, and then it unlocks access to the level. I think the alien sign in the night race would have accessed entrance to Area 51, because it seems like that's what the alien sign was indicating, but it was changed to being an access to Hot Coco, which I do not see how that makes sense. How did Coco get there when Crash got warped there? Why would an alien sign indicate Hot Coco when there are no aliens there?

It's so weird seeing these prototype elements that were changed or removed. What are those purple things that hop around? It looks like they use a similar animation to the frogs in the medieval levels.

Yeah, they're basically a reskin of the medieval frogs, but with an even simpler pathing, just hopping left and right. Some have spikes that come out as they're hopping, but they seem to have no function implemented, as ones that have them work exactly the same way as the ones that don't. These enemies probably got scrapped before they got even completed.

I mean it is very cool there was going to be a another death route but after seeing it I can understand why they scrapped it as it didn't really add anything.

What are you talking about? The death route you see in this video is an early build of the secret entrance accessed from button 29 in the retail version. So it wasn't the part of the level that was scrapped, they just changed how you access it. It actually makes more sense in here than it does in the final version. Backtracking in crash games is annoying in almost every instance where you have to deal with it.

Unfortunately, there's basically nothing of high time's gem route, so trying to fix that would be pointless to begin with

i don't think so, as the answer for most levels' inaccessible items wouldn't be too different from the august 14th alpha's, but i do have an idea for a video about LV4's box gem, which does actually have something special to it

You can find it on KZfaq by the name of "Crash Bandicoot: Warped Alpha Demonstration Disc - Warp Room | OST". You can also hear it in the demo unlockable in Spyro The Dragon's disk via a cheat code.

If you got the good ending in Crash Bandicoot Warped, and then go back to Toad Village, you'll see Fake Crash dancing at a house. I think Fake Crash got the blue gem there, and then lost it in Tomb Wader, but does not know that he lost it there, he thinks he left it at Toad Village at that house, so he went back there, but does not know where it's at.

Yeah, they changed the enemies, but didn't bother changing the names of the entities. The spiked enemy in future levels is still called "spinner" in the final game, because in this version the spikes also spin, the green gem platform in gone tomorrow is still called "purple", and the names for the colored gem platforms in bug lite are inverted.
