From the financial perspective it makes perfect sense to go manual. It's cheaper to buy and it makes the car worth more money. Also, it makes the vin match the powertrain the car was given from factory.

I think you have this really unique opportunity to design a GT3 car that is one of one. You have the RS engine, get a manual trans, your custom suspension, and you have wide body company that you can make a one of one kit for that is RS+ that Porsche would be proud of. High risk, high reward.

What did you buy the green car for? If you originally were not gonna change the PDK in the green car, I’d say keep the PDK aka stick with the original plan. However a manual would be cool.

The only differences between the RS and GT3 is Aero and suspension tuning. That can all be equaled or bettered by the aftermarket. Verus makes all the aero.

991.2 GT3 RS PDK has shorter gear gears, in fact the RS has the shortest gears of any modern Porsche. It also has more torque since the manuals are locked to 338 lbs for durability apparently. So if you’re going track performance PDK all the way. If you like shifting gears - PDK cause you have an extra one and can get max revs more often. If you’re just going for a back roads cars probably manual. Having owned both they have their merits however since you already have an RS PDK manual makes sense especially for the resale.

the green RS is pretty much all stripped down, that gives a good base for an FD legal drift car repair the hole in the chassis, obviously an FD spec roll cage, FDF suspension and grip kit if they make it for the RS and if not a custom build with them, that would make great content

Not sure if it would be worth it. I mean the idea is cool but rear engine cars kind of suck for drifting because of the weight bias. Not saying you can’t slide them perfectly fine but it tends to be a lot snappier than front engine cars. Plus the chassis is very much wrote off already. Not sure if they make FDF angle kits for them but that would be pretty cool.

so many things to think about this, at the end my thoughts for a youtube channel is that either way is not going to be very interesting content to watch so it would make sense to kind of just wrap up the project by keeping it manual if its easier and faster and move on to something else. (hate to seem negative but want to be the devils advocate here). Another thought could be to swap the pdk and do a full send build on the RS engine since the resale value wont really be there on a crashed vehicle anyway. I think it also might be worthwhile to keep this RS long term since you can A. build it however you want and B.the resale wont be that great from what I can imagine it being totalled. The UV purple RS while being amazing will be a much better resale so that would make more sense to sell.

This is what I would do in these situation convert the Red GT3 to a touring, mate the RS engine to a manual transmission and lightweight flywheel and RS interior etc. I think it would be a unique build and since the GT3 has auto rev match and flat foot shifting in terms of performance the time you lose between shifts is negligible. Also would try to fit a very rare option from the 991.1 RS that is basically a Pit limiter button, with the Dundon exhaust would sound crazy. Ps: repost from the main video.

i feel as if the manual makes it color and even more different from the UV Purp GT3RS and it should help your value should you ever decide to sell your car. Plus it really follows the frankenstein vibes edit: if you see this try and get some sort of frankenstein reference for your plate

You could argue that the S/T is a manual RS so if you make your build inspired by the S/T you could say that it's less of a frankenstein build. The transmission seams to have a few bespoke components such as the flywheel and the clutch but since you have the car apart you could look for aftermarket components to achieve a package similar to the S/T or maybe even source them directly from porsche.
