I disagree. In my opinion, this one is the only miss in strive’s soundtrack. To me, the chorus sounds very weird and the whole song just feels generic. Edit: After listening to it a few more times, I take back what I said. It is pretty much like Zato-1’s theme: Some parts are absolute bangers and some are weird, but the good parts really shine in this one

This boss battle is simply brutal. He rushes you down so hard it's almost impossible to zone him, everytime he lands a combo on you, you lose 70% HP if you don't burst, almost every hit he gives turns into a combo, and not even mentioning the blood rage with no drawbacks whatsoever besides the increased damage he takes, because differently than normal, he can still dash around and use specials while in rage.

Pro tip: He's incredibly weak to hard knockdowns if you have a projectile to use, I beat him as Ky, and Charged Stun Edge giving me free shock state right off the bat was a god-send, not to mention the fact that grabbing him seems to fuck up the AI's gameplan

This song, as well as many others in Strive's OST, has helped me cope with things that I can't control. This song specifically helps me cope with my panic disorder. My panic derives from a fear of sudden death, so when I'm laying down in bed at night my "curse" is my own thoughts. Thinking on it, this song is an accurate way for me to describe what a panic attack does to me. Constant conflict, raw emotions and thoughts, and the desire for freedom from this damn disorder. One of the many ways to talk yourself down from a panic attack is to say to yourself "I'm fine, I'll be fine." And I always think of this song when I do that. "The curse is not real, it's all in my mind." This song teaches me to fight on, wake up, and keep that grind going. If today's my last, then I want people to know I died without giving up and that I gave it my all. To me, this song is very important and I'm glad that it's also helping other people for completely different situations, even if it's just to beat boss Nago in arcade, haha.

I’m surprised that I’m not the only one who tried listening to game soundtracks to manage my stress levels. Admittedly, I dont use this song, but I probably would have if I heard it first, lol. On a more serious note, that panic disorder sounds like absolute hell to deal with, but I have faith that you can. Just as long as you always push forward, no matter how little it seems to help. In the times when you’re too weak to stand, make sure you’re gonna crawl.

Bro, I don’t who Carl is, but I think we should fight for his freedom. Tatakae, am I right, boys? Crawl is such a heavy hitter and my personal favorite OST from Guilty Gear Strive. The rawness of the song and it serving as either another theme for Nagoriyuki in Arcade or the player trying to beat Extreme Nagoriyuki, both fit the margin very well. This song resonates with me a whole lot. And I'm sure it does for other people who *Strive* (Heh, get it?) to be good at fighting games or get better at fighting games or at any goal in general. "The sky above the clouds a rainbow that fate has devoured, I gave up hope!" Everyone who has ever touched a fighting game before will look at higher level players and think to themselves "I'll never get that good." I know I have. I used to be bad at fighting games for as long as I could remember, so I doubted myself just like anyone else would. But then the song goes on to say *"Slay that fate of mine, the curse is not real, it's all in my mind.."* That 'Fate' that I bestowed myself, the one that said that I would never get good at fighting games, I had to destroy that thinking process. Why? Because it's *All in my mind.* That lesson's followed through with me because if I can get good at fighting games, which used to be the hardest kind of game for me, as long as I keep at it and work hard, I can literally do anything. And so can you. Now get to grinding.

New guilty gear player here To me this is the perfect "boss song" cause it feels like it's directly talking about the player experience. It starts by talking about negative feelings you can have during the fight and about wanting to beat arcade mode. I think "the freedom of the calm" refers to the end of the battle, in this part it feels like it's specifically about losing or giving up, hence "An infinite Storm of nothingness" (dat gamer rage without accomplishing anything). When the chorus hits, it's like it's talking about actually losing ("A rainbow that fate has devoured") and having to try again, despite thinking about giving up you are gonna crawl. Then it goes into actually standing up, like finally getting that one stock, getting hyped up and stopping yourself from thinking that you can't beat the boss "Slay the fate of mine (the fate that devoured your win), The curse is not real, It's all in my mind". Then the last few "the freedom of calm" it's about wanting the satisfaction of the win and holding that thought to give yourself the determination to win. I once had fully lost my hope, i really was just planning to end it all already, i just wanted to finish some stuff i felt like doing first. But then somebody i knew from a long time ago came back into my life and i knew that my new hope was to be there for them, and be their light in case they ever needed it, and they showed how important i was, i could see it everytime they looked at me and we talked. And then 2 years later, after knowing each other for 8 years, they meet new people and out of nowhere i don't mean anything to them anymore it seems, once again i'm just an afterthought even to the people i helped everyday on their darkest days. And guess what, i feel like i won't be able to have any hope again, but i won't end it anymore. Not because i trust something good will come or that things will get better, i just....i dunno, i guess i wanna know what kinda shit i can do with the rest of the shitty time i have, unless i die now after having all i needed and then losing it for no reason again. That faith made of steel? Not mine, but hey, if someone like me can deal with how fucking unfair and shitty the days are, i hope you have good people around you like i thought i had, and you can deal with it better :)

Amazing work!!! I don't play this game at all and was solely interested in its music Not only did I stumbly upon some good finds, there's also really well put together visuals to fit the songs that are playing. The timing of the clips with the pacing of the song's segments are really well done. I was actually spending ~10 minutes picking my favourite timestamps but I ended up covering pretty much the entire video, so yeah... Came for the music, stayed for the video. Great job!

Screw it. 0:00 - 0:11 What an absolute killer opening solely using cinematics. I wouldn't have it be done any other way! 0:09 why she so cute 0:11 - 0:21 Really nice transition from the opening into some fast paced gameplay. The hits match the pacing of the song as well. 0:33 - 0:41 The drumroll into the scream as the two face off, the guitar coming to a halt right as he glances to his right... 👌 0:56 - 1:04 As the pacing dropped you went for two scenes that are of slower pace as well. The first to match the sudden pace drop, the second to slowly pick it back up with action. Nice! 1:05 - 1:19 STORM. OF. NO-THING-NESS! --Into a combo that matches the tempo of the song well. Although I wish the final hit of the air combo at 1:14 synced with "Hope", what you went for works with the opponent being launched as well! 1:32 - 1:41 SLASH... SLAY... THE CURSE (is not real!)... All really well timed!! 1:41 - 1:51 Love this action sequence, especially the end where she starts powering up at "same" and perfectly syncs up at "old" with the power surge. 2:18 - 2:30 Reaaaallly nice pick. Feels extremely heroic. This entire video really shows how amazingly well coordinated their camera work is... 2:40 - 2:44 The slashes are timed with the guitar?!?! 2:49 - 3:05 FIGHT!!! Everything from then on visually matches the pacing of the music, including the initial lack of vocals. 3:07 - 3:38 Easily what keeps me hanging on this video. That starting clip just works... So well! Especially how the music segment ends just when the fight does. I'm glad you reused the start of the video to follow up this scene with, because it's just too good to only use once. 4:30 Neat transition into the closing segment 4:35 What a way to close off the video. Wouldn't have done it any other way! /rant
