I love Crayola. One of my dream places to go is the Crayola factory in PA. I collect the crayons whenever I see them and can afford them. I haven't colored in a while, but I'm always looking. Great job. And as for her tears, maybe go ahead and color her cheeks but use your white pencil and maybe some silver to shade in as glistening? You know, like the light has hit them and makes you see the tracks? Just a thought. Well, happy coloring!!!

I think you did a fabulous job, difficult picture for sure, or one to give you pause! I copied your 4 color gold combo, I too love my 150 set of Crayola, but love my 100 set of Crazyarts even more! They’re a bit brighter, with some pretty neons like Crayola. I use them with my Prismas & even Neocolor 2.

I love that you’re trying just crayolas. There’s a lot of push to get the insane expensive pencils, which is fine, but how many types do we need? I just like trying things out, but don’t necessarily need the whole set. The image turned out beautifully

For the tears; water has a blue tint so I might color the tears a subtle light blue. Also, I would color the lips a pale pink or blush.

I love the colors you chose, it looks great. For the tears I would use absolute zero with a little of the lightest purple that you used .Maybe go over it with white depending on how it looked. In all reality I would have trouble following the rules I would use something sparkly like a clear or white glitter gel pen.

I am very new in colored pencil world and I was looking for tutorial to learn well before even dipping my feel into this world. Your channel is perfect for me. I am learning so much from every video every day. So far I did acrylic paintings mostly and after watching your video I thought that colour pencil can be so much fun. I live coloring books and I would live to do with colored pencil now. Thank you so much for teaching so much to the beginners like me. 😁😁

So a good tear should be mostly transparent, with maybe a slight shade lighter of the skin to indicate the clear water over it. Outline a tear in white, not black, and if it's particularly chunky likeher tears are, it doesn't hurt to add white points for highlights. Sometimes tears are represented with blue (because water) but for the serious and more realistic tone of this page, what you want is transparent with white edges.

I think the video was wonderful thank you for sharing. I find all your videos extremely entertaining. And of course the tutorials are wonderful. I've been coloring now for 4 years I have so far to go and I too like Crayola pencils. Sometimes it depends on the bats that you get they could have just for the bad batch the reasons why your pencils kept breaking. Happy coloring

Such a lovely page!! I am so happy that you are using Crayolas, and that they have a place next to your other brands. They are my "relaxed" pencils I use when I want to just color or experiment. I am working on a gold combination for scrollwork using crayolas also, but mine is a bit darker, more antiqued gold. The Outer Space works great with the black.

What I've learned about water per say in certain paintings or let me say this one painting I always look at when I go to this building. The painting is a painting of a road with a puddle on the left hand side of the road. And the artist did very little to make it look that way like a puddle. By not doing much the white pops out and makes it look like it has a water reflection. I hope I helped you out with this. Sincerely, Jonny🍀👣💧

Favorite Crayola color? Don't know, there are several really great colors. Your work proves you can do great things with Crayola if you take the time to learn how. For the tears, I probably would have gone with a waterdrop kind of effect. Never tried coloring tears, so I have no idea how that would work.

Hmm...Doing an image with only my Crayola pencils as well! Favorite Crayola color? That one is kind of hard...you would probably say Sky Blue, if you were looking at my set of pencils, since that is my “shortest” (doesn’t need an extender yet though), but wow.....hmmm....I guess if I had to narrow it down to just one favorite color...maybe the Cerulean Blue? ....interestingly, Prisma is my favorite pencils to work with, yet one of my all time favorite combos is a blue one that I came up with using....yep Crayola!

I am SO with you on the paper vs. pencils. I can't stand coloring on bad paper, regardless of the pencil quality. It just makes the whole experience frustrating. As for the crying women - I find pretty much all the manga pictures uncomfortably weird in one way or another, lol. It's why I don't do them. There's just something odd about the whole thing.

Definitely not an expert here but would it have been possible to not only erase the tears but to modify her mouth slightly so she had a tiny shy smile going on? The drawings in the book are great apart from the fact they are basically crying children which is a little disturbing. BTW, your voice is lovely to listen to☺

Just finished using all those same pencils on an extremely de!icious feathery Victorian hat. Now I have the rest of the page to finish. She's wearing a lovely dove grey walking suit with pale grey mid-length gloves. Crayola's more reddish purples, with a touch of pink, will finish off her under blouse. Just haven't figured out the colors to use on her large, white bird. If I wanted to be totally realistic. it would be white but I'm searching for a more colorful inspiration. The hardest part for me will be the remaining background of the room seen behind her. It may be a relatively small area but it has me stumped for now. Love it that you love and use your Crayola pencils. I mix all my pencils together quite lovingly. No favorite child in my art room.🎨♿👵 Barb Nelson

lol...she came out gorgeous but looks like she's crying milk. For the tear streak...just watch someone when they're crying...it's a wet look. Depending on the skin type it makes the skin under the tearline slightly browner, or redder, or just sharper...plus it's a matter of making it still look wet. Now, how do DO that with colored pencils...I dunno yet...lol. You had me laughing about the whole "planning" thing. I SO wish I could do thumbnails, swatches, journal pages full of notes on my thoughts and intentions about any page I am about to color...but usually, I just pick a color, usually some kind of blue...and start. What I HAVE learned though is...triads. If I pick blue...then I use the complimentary somewhere else...and the third color somewhere else...and I try to limit the page to a warm triad/cool triad depending on whether I am working on something close or something far. But the whole "plan your page" process is something I WISH WISH WISH I could do. The times I have tried it...I had more fun with the planning and veered off into colorful tangents and never bothered with the page I had done all the planning for...happens every time. Also, when I mess up a page...I start using the rest to practice color blending, or watercolor, or inktense, or...well, if it's not going to be good, it may as well at least be colorful...lol...

@FernCurtis
@FernCurtis 3 жыл бұрын
The biggest tip I can give you (I started out with Crayola over 4 years ago and while not my favorite pencil, I still use them A LOT!) is this: they require a light hand and multiple layers to build up the intensity of the color, the more layers you can do, the better the color you’re going to get. I have found through the years that USUALLY, if someone is heavy handed, they are not going to have as much success with them.
A color palette experiment! - Did I pass or fail??
