Shovel site move done by Mammoet close to Edson, Alberta. Took a fully loaded 793 to get these boys rollin up that grade! Felt my heart in my chest with all that diesel power roaring!

No matter how big a truck you get, there’s always a bigger truck.

Still the best way and most cost effective way to move a massive piece of equipment especially inside the Mine site.. the Time alone to get it back to work asap makes it worth all this effort

So that is a CAT 797, hauling 5 Kenworth tractors and one monster of a Hitachi excavator - you're right that is crazy

there is not 5 Kenworth's in the video, at least 4 of them are western star.

Too COOL!! I can't imagine the forces on that first tow cable! I wouldn't want to be the person driving the first truck!!
@epistte3 күн бұрын
That's exactly what I thought of. If that cable snaps that driver is a dead man.

Truck looks like an older generation 793. I've run the newer ones where the stairs are diagonal across the radiator instead of a ladder. And the Hitachi shovel... Never ran a shovel but I sat in the cab of a Hitachi 5500 just like the one in the video for an hour while the operator loaded trucks. Except the one I was in had like an elevator lift, not a stairway like that one. As frustrated as I get it's good to remember I have one of the coolest jobs around.

Those trucks look like toys. Hahaha beautifull.

@@pieterb8154 They really do! And those rigs are big compared to most! Video doesn’t do it justice compared to seein it in person

It's like comparing matchbox cars to the old Tonka toys, I thought the same thing.

I remember when that shovel was built, just down the road from the dry. My favourite place coal valley

Feel sorry for the poor apprentice who has to change the middle tyres on that low loader when they blow...

Omg the size of that dump truck

That 789 isn't even the biggest haul truck. Google CAT 795

I am more surprised there are no traction cleats on the Hitachi drive tracks. The pads are almost polished smooth, That would be a scary ride if that thing started to track slide

And that's just a 5500. Hitachi makes a model (the 8000) that's even larger.

Something with a lot of weight, and horsepower, that's on site, nearby, available for a short time, assisting a load uphill, and that's the craziest thing you've ever seen?
