You guy's live in a huge country n cud only imagine what it must be like to have travel across the USA to take part in a race like this. I've done it a few times driven from the west coast to the east coast of Ireland to take part in a league match they hold in Dublin Ireland and run 100m, I kept it up for a few seasons until 1 day I was simply to tired to compete well, a days works 1st then a 4hr drive to the track and I ran terrible I think I managed 3rd place in 11.71sec and I was a 10.8sec at best guy. When I drove home that day I thought that's it I'm never doing that again as I had a 4 hr drive home to think about it. All that way for an 11.7sec 100m so i kept it more local but found it harder n harder to find sprint races in my province over the next few years until it was only championships like County, Provincial, and national. But u really need races to keep you sharp and sprint ready to execute a good 100 or 200m race. My coach reckoned it takes an athlete about 10 races to get u race sharp and I really struggled to find them 10 races before Munster or national champs. Is grass roots Athletics fading here in Ireland? As we definitely have the talent, but less n lesser coaches and open track meets over the last 20 years BIGTIME. But if ur in shape I say go for it and travel to these races Nick is organising. Unless u can find something similar nearer your home town. Best of luck to all u young athletes out there, it's a Beautiful sport to be involved with without a doubt. 🏃‍♀️🏅🇮🇪🇮🇪🏅🏃‍♀️🇺🇸
