Time spent playing GTA IV is time well spent

I remember waiting till late night for this game trailer release.

Played it on medium with the ocassional studder using an asus 8600gt 512mb and a E5200 2.5ghz dual core cpu w/2 gb ram. The gpu and ram got by, but the cpu was running at 100% which meant the game wasn't completely fluid. Still finished the game 4 times, it was that good.

@@rochester212then i got e2140 dual core, after oc to 3ghz i had 18-22 fps so you should had ~25 fps - what a luxury! xD

the problem wasn't the graphics cards, it was the GOD AWFUL core 2 duo CPU's that made this game untouchable for like 90% of PC owners. Everyone around 2007 - 2009 ran core 2 duo chips, unless you bought a really high end PC with a core 2 quad.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has the biggest map out of all Rockstar games and still has more details than all of them

GTA IV had so much more detail than V. I still remember how cops try to arrest you on 1 star instead of just shooting you, while in V they just shoot at you for looking at them the wrong way. There are countless things like that. GTA V might have bigger map but it feels fake, and IV just feels immersive.

I agree. San Andreas is cool but it's way too outdated. GTAIV shows age but it's still a very technically impressive and good looking game.

Even tho I fuck with niko heavy San Andreas had a better more diverse map, better lore and characters. 4 had detail physics & gameplay on lock

It's fucking stupid because i appreciated the hard work they put into the game, the story was amazing, the driving had a nice feeling to it, the physics were fun as hell, and i loved the open world. I lost that feeling with GTA V.

It's probably the same for most non-english languages in this game. The NPCs that speak "German" have a thick accent and most of the words were translated 1:1 from English and don't really make any sense in German (One NPC says "mutterficker" as an insult, which is just "motherfucker" translated 1:1 ... no German speaker would say that lol)

Mike Hunt Soo what did gta 5 story offer? That story line was sooooo boring. Only time i really had fun was on my firet play through. Its just so over top and yeah gta 4 didnt have a 100 weapons, great clothin customization or anything like that. But what gta 4 did have was a lot more detail in the world. Like when i play gta 4 I actually feel like im in New York, its insane. gta 5 map is horrible compared to 4. How the hell does a 2008 game have a lot more interiors to enter? Then in gta 5 the pedestrian and police behavior is atrocious, you cant even stand beside a pedestrian without gettin police called or getting attack. Police dont try to arrest you, like in 4 they just shoot you to death with aimbot aim and ram your car like its a fuckin demolition derby. Gta 4 also had better body euphoria, like the body actually reacts correctly when they get shot, then even when you took an enemy health down all the way depending on where you shot them they would still be on the ground fightin for their life and you could call the ambulance to save them. In gta 5 even if you knock somebody out they die instantly. Gta 5 world is very disappointing. I play on pc and even with mods on 5 its boring. Cause you cant interact with shit and theres no side activities. Only thing you can do after you complete gta 5 story is go to the strip club, shootin range, and go hang with the protagonist. Oh yeah also just fuck hookers. Like wtf man, its so sad. Gta 4 you can have multiple girls, go play pool, bowling, darts, heli tour rides, the car side missions for brucie, side missions for lil jacob the list just goes on. Where tf was this stuff on gta 5. Gta 5 isnt a bad game, but the world detail just isnt on gta 4 which is a 2008 game.

Believe it or not, GTA V actually got me interested in playing the GTA games. Didn't care about those games until I saw videos on V. I saw a couple videos of IV, but have yet to play it. U can play gta 4 for maybe about a month before u run out of things to do.. U can play gta 5 literally for years.. 6 years to be exact.
