Jonas Clark I agree. When I visited about a year ago, it was blisteringly hot outside. All I wanted to do was jump in! Alas, the guardrail was a stark reminder that we were not millionaires at some party for the rich and elite.

The workers and volunteers do have parties once a year where they get to swim in the pools. Alas I live too far away to do either one

@@p1nkf1oyd13 Tour Guide in June said that it will happen again; was stopped because the pool was being repaired for two years and then Covid meant they didn’t do the night tours. Pool is fixed and the night tours should be back this year. They did say it’s not heated, so you really have to want to swim in it to swim in it. 😂

The ticket to swim in the pool is about $1500 the fine is also about $1500 so I guess it just comes down to whether you want to make an appointment to go for a swim or if you just wanna go for a swim whenever

He's not a legend, he an idiot.. he deliberately jumped into a pool that does not belong to him for attention. Just like a little girl does when she wants here daddies attention example: "pay attention to me daddy or I'll jump into someone else's pool!" May I suggest he see a psychologist to help find out why he preforms attention seeking behavior so badly?

I would love to have seen how much he was fined... but if you're gonna jump in at least try for the bottom to see the bottom made partially of gold as well.... I'm sure at night that pool was still scary as hell to swim in..

you can actually have you own wedding there and can swim outside in neptunes pool i have seen vidoes on it, my dad had gone there couple of times and he remembers they used to give you the whole tour upstairs and downstairs and outside towards cottage area. but when i went with him we only got downstairs so we snuck in the other tour group

Diamond-Nebulous .......its the optical illusion that does that. If you notice where you are standing, it looks deeper than to your right and left but as you walk along, that "deep" part seems to move with you.

The loft space if you mean literally it's not it's called the Roman pool because it was designed after Roman Turkish bath houses

Was there today. This is not a swimming pool. It's a dark creepy 10 ft deep lake under two tennis courts. The roof leaks like hell. The upper jump area looks like a ritual balcony. Under the jump platform is a setup to row out a shallow hulled boat.

Could be a nice solution to clean up the homeless issue, send them here, jump in the pool, and they get free housing and meals till they can afford to pay the fine in a nice temperature controlled jail cell.

I went to first castle my first time the day before new years of 2014 spent the night in Monterey then took the tour around Hearst castle snuck into all the other tours like to upstairs and downstairs the cottages Neptune pool yep I remember seeing that pool inside lol that guy actually jumped man that's crazy but this place is open to the public it shouldn't really be that bad though ..they clean it and take care of the place so why not just one time ...that's all

I went there with my 6th grande class and the Roman pool was empty I was like man and there was a earthquake there and by the time we arrived there they where fixing the castle but it was still in full piece nothing broken thank god

I think it’s a mighty shame that they don’t have people actually living in the castle. It should be used as a hotel (for the wealthy, because only the rich could afford it) as well as a sort of museum for tours. It would help to pay for the expenses to keep that place open and in pristine condition. (Believe me, it’s unusual.) That beautiful house was meant to be lived in, that’s what the estate was built for. Without people having occasional parties up there, it’s like a grand stage but no play to watch. The drama is all gone. It’s all just ghosts now, memories. A house, even a palace, is only as good as the people who live in it. That Roman pool was meant to be dived in. Those books in the library were meant to be read. The billiard tables were meant to be played on. Eventually, the state is going to get tired of taking care of it, if they can’t find a way to make it less of a Money Pit.

I’m surprised more people DON’T do this. If he actually was arrested, what would he be charged with? Granted I’m sure you get permanently blacklisted from Hearst Castle, but I’ve heard the tour is bland and overrated anyway. If I ever go, I’m bringing a change of clothes.
