The Algo is working. This is an incredible find. I just posted a video last week about the idea to have spectral gating plugs for morphing purposes and lo and behold it's alive ( a year ago ). At the highest levels of sound design the machine talks to you. ha Very good video presentation and walkthrough.

If I could code more than a crappy unity game or whatever, this is probably something I'd end up making. You can do insane stuff with FFT with all kinds of scary maths. Also, 12:58 Harmor shoutout lol, love that vst, used it for years. This stuff very much reminds me of what you can do with prism in that.

used this with that free pendulate chaotic synth from Eventide for a few minutes just now and yea i could spend a lot of time in this soon making sounds. really cool , thanks

Love this stuff for robotic and tranformer type sounds. Lots of phase shifted, disperser type stuff that is redolent of the sort of burbling artefacts you can get with badly encoded digital audio or bad noise reduction. My only complaint, other than latency, is that it tends to soften transients. However, you can always mix the dry signal back in with a parralel channel, so... Pretty sure I've tried to use these before, but they didn't work on the system I had at the time. I'll give them another try this time now I have a different daw and comp. Also, if you're into FFT type stuff, you should give DtBlkFx Vst a spin. Along with Spec Ops, this is the FFT VST that has yielded the best results most musical for me. It's free via KVR, so well worth giving a try.

I'm pretty sure that the bin size is actually how many samples of the audio it uses for its calculation - for each refresh of the graph. It uses a sliding window of that bin size (that many audio sample points), so it can operate in real time. With a tiny slice of the sound, you won't pick up the component frequencies as well, especially lower frequencies. But with a longer bin size, transients like drum hits can be smoothed over too much. So setting the bin size is also a bit of an art. If you wanted the sound of the transient of a drum hit, you'd set a smaller bin size, analyzing just that tiny moment when the transient is.
