This super popular goat is famous in the mountain regions of Ninh Binh. You cannot walk around the streets of Tam Coc without seeing signs of it posted everywhere! So of course we knew we had to try it. We searched high and low for the best rated goat and narrowed it down to 2 places. Who is the winner!? When you eat Vietnamese food, you will find all the ingredients are fresh because we always make it very fresh, hardly frozen, that's why I feel the same way, I also eat the food locations in many countries around the world. In the world, if comparing the quality of dishes when on the tray, Vietnamese dishes completely dominate, especially Vietnamese spices are also very diverse to suit each type of food. Wait...so you guys missed all the central sections of Vietnam? That's where some of the best foods can be found! Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang. Never mind, you guys went there earlier. LOL! The caves in Phong Nha cannot be missed such as Paradise Cave, Dark Cave (ziplining and mud bath inside the cave), Mermaid Cave (okay, this is a small one in a park, I think, but still looks neat). Go do a multi-day caving event with Oxalis like "Tim and Fin" did years ago or do a one day one like "One Pack Wanderer"...they all look like really interesting excursions.

I was in Vietnam, 2017 and toured This place Chua Bai Dinh …and there was a restaurant along the road, and I tried goat 3 different types my first time eating goat it was good

Ninhbinh is famous for goat meat and the terrestrial Halong. We had the opportunity to explore this area on a small wherry. I have to say the scenery is breathtaking. I never tried to eat goat but all the people I knew told me that the meat is excellent. BTW I don't eat lamb either.

Love Nihn Bihn! Goat can definitely be hit or miss. Its tough to make it not chewy, but when it's done right, it's delish. The goat we had in Nihn Bihn was reeeeally chewy. What you guys ate looked bomb. 💣 We used to buy rice wine at our local lil' corner stores when we lived in Vietnam. That stuff is dangerous. 😂

It’s such a great peaceful little place! We researched HIGH and low for the best goat reviews online so I feel like we were in for some good goat! 🤭 The first one was way chewy compared to the second one, but the flavour made it worth it lol! Maybe we will have to try that some time haha sounds intense 😂

Great video as usual. Ninh Binh region is one of the best locations in VN specially Tam Côc or Trang An (Terrestrial Halong Bay) . Trang An is better because there are less tourists. Be safe.

So glad you guys tried the goat as a lot of vloggers miss it when there. I wonder if the first place just uses a different part of the goat, so depending on which part you get, it can be chewier. But both did look delicious. I'm surprised it didn't come with more fresh veggies/herbs as that's eaten with everything in Vietnam. LOL! BTW, if you're going to do the boat tour there, there's more than just the Tam Coc one. Check out the video that "Sammy and Tommy" did last year.

We are going to ninh binh in March 2024. We have already booked in ninh binh centre so I’m really glad to watch your channel. Would you recommend we change our accommodation? We thought we’d do tam coc as day visits.

I enjoyed your video because I love Ninh Binh and goat dishes there, before Covid I went there like every 2 weeks just to enjoy the road and the goat meat. However it's a pity that you did not try the more iconic dishes like "tái chanh" (medium rare meat mixed with lime juice and lemongrass like a salad) and the goat soup served with "cơm cháy" (crispy rice cracker) or the hot pot, the meat of these dishes is much more tender, not chewy, unlike the grilled meat. It seems like the local restaurants there didn't give you the right recommendations. Anyways, nice job guys, thanks for bringing Vietnamese culture to the international audience.

I am from India but living in USA California so in India we can only get goat meat and it’s very delicious we cook curry…kabab… biryani… in India it’s very hard to get beef not allowed slaughter cow because they worship cows….anyway I love goat meat easy to digest too…I missed that goat meat here in USA…

That restaurant owner was so nice to caution you guys about the goat's taste being quite strong. She speaks English quite well too. I'm surprised by your liking ginger, not too many people like it. I heard Vietnamese and Chinese like to eat ginger as it helps keep them warm and also relieve stomach ache (I think that's what they said). I find Vietnamese sees a lot of health values in the natural and fresh food they eat.

If the BBQ goat is not chewy, then you may get a fake one....lol...It could happen in VN. I love chewy goat because you would get the best flavor ands sweetness of the meat. Over cook would make it like beef which I don't like and lost some of the flavor. You would barely see fat in goat meat, I may be wrong but I have bought goat meat many times without fat, probably about 10% fat.

Honestly we were wondering, the goat was extremely fatty throughout the whole chunks and tasted like pork ribs.. so now I’m wondering lol.. we will never know I guess! Either way they were both so good!!

@@ChaseandShelbs It's water spinach (also known as morning glory). It's one of the few veggies I liked as a kid because it's delicious stir fried like that. Someone in California said they are now $10/lb...which is crazy expensive.

My advice is that dont drink straight from the cans especially in third-world countries b/c you don't know what people did to the top and the rest of those cans. For rare and kinda exotic meats like goat, the only way you can tell if its goat is boil meats or steam meat. Otherwise, sometime restaurants would mix other mystery meats to reduce the costs

Poor you, Westerner citizen with Vietnam root but always keep the view of Vietnam at 20-30 years ago and always want Vietnam still be poor, low-develop, ...blabla... Such a selfish! Vietnam today is full of food, fast-develop with nice houses, nice cars, betonite roads in both cities and countrysides zones. Goat meat is normal, not rare anymore. Ninh Binh is well-known for goat, and all the goat they used for meals is cultured, not natural anymore. There are a lot of flocks of goats in farmer families in NinhBinh and neighboring area.

Chắc nghĩ Việt Nam giờ vẫn như Việt Nam trước khi giỡ cấm vận năm 1995, nêú ở bên đó lâu quá ko cập nhật thì nên về một chuyến. Các hãng đồ uống ở Việt Nam giờ toàn liên doanh hoặc được mua cổ phần bởi các hãng của Đan Mạch, Mỹ, Thái Lan làm sạch sẽ, uy tín. Còn dê ở đâu có dê giả chứ riêng Ninh Bình là đất của dê, thả đầy trên núi đá vôi đặc điểm địa hình mà chỉ Ninh Bình có. Dân Việt Nam sành ăn lắm, lừa thế nào được miệng!
