Just to put some clarification on this video to solve some argument issues. This is a Northern California bobcat. It belongs to the lynx genus. However, it is not an actual lynx. It is classified as a bobcat(lynx Rufus) which is different from the actual lynx. California doesn’t have any actual lynx within the state. Only the bobcat species. If you like this video, you may want to check some of my other videos where I release bobcats as they run up trees. Pretty neat. Thanks for the interest in this video.

Horseback riding once, came upon a bobcat hiding behind a fallen tree trunk. As soon we got past where he was hiding he jumped and took off running, I was as close as 10 feet from him, they are a beautiful big cat. Lot of times late in the evening we could hear them screaming. It was a terrifying scream.

oh theyre very intelligent, the bobcat is freaking out in the video because the person is a stranger to them, you can see the intelligence of the cat solely from the way they hesitate to exit the trap because the people are present, only do they leave once the person is fully backed up and the cat knows they can make a run for it without the person hurting them@@ADAM63639

I have years of experience with cats and I always watch a cats body language before approaching unless ik that cat personally. A cat is a cat and even if it’s a larger cat it’ll still have some similarities with communication.
