PRF is great - but something everyone should know: like most Minimally Invasive treatments the results are temporary. For some, the recovery time may not be worth it. If you are preparing for a big event, then it may be.
My under-eye before and after results with PRF are nearly unbelievable, I know.
This may be the most helpful things I have done to maintain a youthful look without much downtime or downside. Learn more about my experience and what you should know before committing to Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) injections.

lasts about a month to 6 weeks then you have to redo it they suggest doing it 3-4 times in a row then it's supposed to last 6 months to a year but I have not found that to be true at least not for tear troughs. 3 months after i see minimal improvement and still need filler to plump it up

I had both PRF injections and PRF microneedling this past month. It's a very promising treatment, but I would say the biggest issue is finding a good provider that knows what they're doing. In my country there are only two places that offer PRF (the rest all still do PRP) and only one in my area. I had been reading up on it, looking into studies, finding out the best way to treat. For instance, after your blood is drawn there is a window of 60-90 seconds for it to go into the spinner to make the PRF. After the 90 seconds the size of the PRF membranes has already been reduced by 12%. Timing is key here. The provider I went to didn't even know this and said it should be fine to wait longer than that. There are also different kinds of spinners and even tubes, some that contain additives that you don't want in your PRF. There are a lot of factors that go into this that will determine the outcome of your treatment, so finding the right provider is essential. Unfortunately I don't have that available to me, so until PRF really picks up here and providers get more informed I'll have to shelf it.

Eye filler ruined my life. Don't do it. Modern research shows that the filler can last for more than 7 years. Mine lasted longer. I tried disolving it several times, but it would not go away. Finally, I had a lower bleph to try to get rid of it once and for all. I was tired of my doctor telling me the multiple rounds of hyaluronidase might dissolve my own tissue so I did the surgery. After surgery the filler was still there so I asked my doctor why he did not remove it. He said you can't see filler under the eyes during surgery. I was like wtf! Are you kidding me? Yep this story is real and the filler is still there and I am so angry. Lucky the famous Occuloplast refunded my money without me having to ask. Honestly, he was unable to help me and he was supposedly the best Doctor around. He is totally famous.

@@alexander_no350 hi there I'm an esthetician for 20 years I've been working with red light for over 15 years. Red light therapy does not create bags under the eyes. The problem is with filler. It's hyaluronic acid which attracts moisture to itself and holds it for a long while. Each molecule of hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water! So when you put that in your skin it will plump it. under the eye area it's going to draw moisture to itself and give you bags. More more doctors are moving away from using hyaluronic acid as a filler under the eyes.

Did they say if it could also be injected in other areas like smile lines? Also, do the prf injections help with loose skin under the eyes which causes the darkness? I had under eye fillers 2 yrs ago- pretty much gone at this point- hollowing isn’t an issue, just the skin is sagging a bit which is causing darkness. But If I pull the skin back (I know it’s bad to do :) ) the darkness goes away. Hoping prf could fix this and I can wait on more fillers

Do you know how deep your injections were? Were they intradermal or subcutaneous or both? Providers seem to have wildly different methods for injecting, as well as different guidelines for the interval between treatments. Some say 2-3 weeks, between treatments, most say 4-6 and then another group says 6-8. There aren't any studies on ideal time between treatments, so I always wonder what they base their instructions on. Maybe it depends on the depth of the injections?

I‘m thinking about getting PRF for my undereye area aswell and I‘m still not so sure what to expect. I have this hollow spot right where the undereye trasitions to the midface. It looks like the midface fat pad has sagged down a bit and now my orbit is showing and there‘s no fat left to cover the bone. Also got fillers a while ago and it perfectly covered this area. Will PRF do the same? Or will it just tighten the skin? Tightness or texture is not really my problem, only the slight loss of fat/volume in this particular area. Would be happy to hear your experience on this :)

Filler is much more robust and long lasting whereas PRF is a long term play. I’ve avoided filler just because of how it can shift and cause swelling. There are also now more and more stories of people having bad effects when dissolving filler. In other words, PRF is much more subtle than filler so worth knowing that doing into it!

I find it is very worth it, but it is not permanent. Cannot say how long but it's good to know that going into it that you will likely require maintenance. The big reason why I prefer PRF is because long term it helps maintain the skin whereas filler comes with all sorts of risks and issues. If you do decide to get PRF - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate the days leading up as that will help your body generate more fibrin. Also avoid things like fish, turmeric, and alcohol before. My guess is that some people instinctively equate getting fit with losing weight, and losing weight could definitely make your face look thinner. However, unless you are in a calorie deficit, working out doesn't necessarily mean you have to lose weight, and being fit also doesn't have to mean you need to look really lean. As your goal is obviously to gain mass, you need to eat enough for your muscles to grow, so you definitely shouldn't be in a calorie deficit, and therefore, you probably don't need to worry about your face starting to look thin either. 🙂

I learned this naturally. I was always really thin. But in my forties, I suddenly developed PCOS, and it made me gain weight. The benefit - my face looks beautiful and 20 years younger, and much prettier than how I looked in my twenties. It makes me not want to lose weight that badly anymore. I would rather be chubby and busty, and with a pretty youthful cherub face - compared to thin and flat chested with an older face.

Also in answer to your specific exercise question: high impact cardio exercise is known to produce a certain physiological blood pressure situation in your face, that lead to higher fat loss and advanced aging. It is called "runner's face." I strictly do not believe in high impact cardio exercise. Also, another type of exercise that makes your face look bad is heavy lifting muscle exercises. It makes your body grow your veins larger, so that you'll have a giant he-man blood vessel running down your forehead. I know an obsessive weight lifting woman who has this, and it makes me flinch to look at it, because it is so unsightly. In summary, heavy exercise of any kind is unhealthy and ages you. Gentle moderate exercise is better for youthfulness and attractiveness.

Hey there! Just wondered how long the first treatment lasts? I just got a treatment last week and it looked great for probably 4-5 days but then it looks like they are dark again! I know I have to keep going back to get more, but I thought this first treatment would at LEAST last several weeks, not just a couple of days! Thoughts? do you still get it done?

Hey! I want to say my results lasted for several weeks. I dont know that i will get this ongoing, but if I felt pulled to do undereye filler - i would def do PRF again. Lately i have been pondering, what are the long term benefits of having those growth factors from the PRF that we cannot appreciate today? And is there a way for us to even know if the PRF gets credit? The reason I wonder this is because many surgeons speak to the long term benefits of fat transfers bc of the growth factors they offer - but does PRF provide long term benefits, too? We need some white papers on this 😂

@@RundownwithRachel Thank you so much for your reply! Yeah, I bought a package of three and I would definitely do it again. It has made a tremendous difference but I wasn't sure if it lasted longer than a couple of weeks in the beginning. She told me I would look better in 9 months than I do on that very first day she filled it :-) (it plumped up my under eyes so good that you couldn't even see the black!) I agree with what you said above. I got what is called PRF Gel. So this is the same process, but the Fibrin is cooled and then heated again or something like that, and it creates the fibrin to become a gel. So I guess this has longer benefits than just PRF. I'm concerned though, b/c even though my girl is GREAT at what she does, she said this Gel is new and you won't find a lot (i found absolutely NOTHING) on it online b/c she is working with the "company" and it's new and upcoming. So IDK. I wouldn't do fillers per se' b/c I've heard how some people have to get that stuff taken out b/c it becomes lumpy or w/e. IDK on that either as I'm new to this but totally need to have this stupid issue (along w/my hooded lids) resolved! 😕

Have you seen improvement since you posted your question four months ago? What you noted is what I'm afraid of. I'm really tired of dropping some much money on these non-surgical options with little to no results. I've done 3 morpheus8 microneedling treatments (about a year ago now) and sculptra (5 months ago) and I don't see really much improvement on my facial problem areas. I have awful under eye hallowing, volume loss in the mid-face and jowls. I've been considering prp. So, I'm watching videos and reading people's reviews... I'm not sure it's worth trying. I'm thinking maybe I should just save my money for a surgical option down the road when it gets truly awful. Although, I have to live with it until then. Ugh :(

@@deliachavez2017 Hey there! Yes I absolutely have seen results! It's so funny because I was literally looking at myself in the mirror today going " They don't stand out to where I'm noticing them every single time I look in the mirror this is amazing!" I don't even really need to wear under eye makeup if I didn't want to . Now don't get me wrong, I can still see some bluish when I look in my one particular bathroom mirror but I think I'm just being a very harsh critic. But one thing I definitely can say I have noticed is that when I look at myself in the mirror, they don't stand out to where I think good grief I've got to do something about this! I had three treatments because I bought a package and I think it was maybe $2300 for the 3? Not 100% sure exactly how much it was but although it was expensive I'm really glad I did it because it was definitely a sore spot for me. The girl that did it told me that I will see results overtime. She was absolutely right! I don't know what to say as far as the other procedures you've had because I know I've been contemplating doing morpheus 8 as well but just haven't gone that route yet. Also let me say that I got PRF gel. That is different from just plain PRF as the gel is what allows it to continue to work overtime. Regular PRF I think was 1800 and the PRF gel was 2300. My girl is pretty sought out, so she charges a bit more but I trust her! Definitely find someone you can trust and knows what they are doing. She explained the difference between PRP and PRF gel. That's why I decided to go with the gel and I'm glad I did! She said we could choose to do PRF later down the road if the jail works well. This way it would just be maintenance and I wouldn't have to pay so much. So next time I go we might decide just to do PRF only. Honestly, because I drink a lot of water she was able to get about 4-5 vials of PRP's out of my blood! So she did inject some in between the nasal labial folds and they look better but not 100%. But again those don't even stand out to me as much as they used to. She also told me that I should make sure to be taking a lot of collagen to keep up the collagen production from here on out. This way my body as it gets older, won't keep losing collagen, well I will, but at least I'm replacing some of it to what I can. Hope all of that makes sense! I'll be happy to elaborate more if you need me to!

Q: Is your OCD influencing your need to get interventions on your face? Diet, light treatment, meditation and yoga will fix this and increase your collagen production. Even microneedling can cause scarring and infections. Try to focus on a natural lifestyle, fresh air, sunshine, not puncturing and adding fibre to your face, or your surgery. Oxygenated and clean blood supply to your face is the key - yoga does both. Do you know longterm effects of fibrin treatment? You don’t bc its so new. Just because its your own tissue doesn’t mean your body can absorb it and keep it exactly where you want. Essential its still a filler that can coagulate un unpredictable ways. Just saying.

I can see why you’re discouraged. Seeing a review from someone younger isn’t as constructive as someone in your own age bracket. On the bright side, as PRF gains more popularity I am willing to bet there will be more representation. Although it may not appear “I need it” I appreciate a natural, prophylactic approach and this seems to meet that preference for me. If nothing else, I hope the video demos on some level that the results are subtle. Although not covered in the video, there are all sorts of undereye options that can be even more impactful depending on what you’re looking for - one of them being CO2 for the undereyes. Another even better resource than my humble channel is “RealSelf” - you can get access to reviews for all sorts of procedures, even get consults from aesthetic professionals anonymously and for free!
