I was thinking the same thing! Of course Brody is still young and right now ancestors might not seem that interesting, but if I were 21% Indigenous, I'd be so excited to learn more about that and, if possible, find out more about the culture of my ancestors.

I think more likely his birth parents were mostly Mexican, or Central American. I think I saw for a brief second in the video where it said his indigenous DNA was likely from areas in Mexico. I'm Puerto Rican and while I have not had a DNA test yet I watch a lot of genealogy videos and typically Spanish/Latin people will come back with a mix of European and Native American (indigenous). Genealogy is pretty interesting since it's all a representation of history.

@@jessicadesmarais9256 Hi Jessica, yes the Indigenous ethnicity was from Mexico, which matches with North American tribes. Mexican is a nationality, not an ethnicity. The DNA companies do not have any way of identifying individual tribes, but the Mexican component is likely from near where they live. Making a family tree is the best way to trace your family history and genealogy. Thanks for responding.

I think Ariana is just going through a time where she doesn’t want protective styles and is experimenting with her hair herself💕 which is damaging but I don’t think crystal and Arron could force her to do her hair how they want anymore lol

I never heard Mestizo in Latin America to be considered offensive but I understand why Americans do, it’s due to historical events. Yes, Portuguese and Spain are considered European, although they differ from other European nations because they tend to have a Mediterranean look. Both of their languages are romance and descendent of Latin, and genetically are the same. Latino or Hispanic are just names to describe someone in central and South America that speak Spanish or Portuguese. Maybe they misinterpreted the language that came from Latin with the geographical aspect. Whatever country thats located in Europe, is in fact European that’s just common sense. Non of this really matters today, because of thousands of years and current immigration which ends up changing our culture and ethnic backgrounds, like it should.

@@ktea3744 Hispanic = people with direct genealogy back to Spain, the more European Spanish speaking people: Spain. Latino = people with ancestry from Latin America. Usually native tribes mixed with Spain. It can be a bit confusing because we are all related far back. Easiest way to remember it: anything from South America is Latino. When in doubt ask. My family is considered Hispanic.

Highly unlikely. While he is indigenous, he has no tribal affiliation and DNA isn’t tribe specific. Most benefits are paid directly from the tribe, not the US government and with no tribal affiliation and no proof of what tribe his ancestors may have belonged to he wouldn’t be eligible.

This is what I was told when I tried getting benefits my Grandfather was full and my dad was half. None of that mattered in the end because I didn't have any documentation with proof with being native American. From what I understand it's really hard to get these documents if a family member already doesn't have them stating you are. I can only speak on by the information I was given when I was already an adult.

Native american/indigenous benefits only work for those with actual tribe affiliation. You have to have proof of your native family history. Yes his DNA test says that his is native, but without fully tracing his family down, he likely will not benefit from his indigenous DNA. At least that’s how I understand it. (My boyfriend is 1/8th native so I have some second hand knowledge).

Well when you have absolutely no idea of where you came from your ancestry your ethnicity your family at all this is better than nothing.

That's super cool that he is basically a little bit of the whole world. It'll be interesting as they delve more and he gets older to discover what part indigenous American he is 21 point something percent is actually a pretty significant number. I'm sure they will definitely try to find much more information. But if you're paying attention Brody clearly is taking in what they're saying and talking about and I think he grasps that he's got ancestry all over the world but it's going to be a little while before he understands the importance of the indigenous history or any of it. @@mollymillar3040 although this person was rude. i wouldn't say he was assuming. brody's indigenous american blood seems to be shown where it says "recent ancestry in the Americas" and it's coming from Mexico. I say this because when i did mine it came back as 99.1% indigenous american and it also said my recent ancestry in the Americas, and that was Guatemala (I am Mayan). Don't forget America is a huge continent.
