I have been struggling with head modelling and faces especially. I am not even trying to do realistic heads, I want them for my characters. I have also been looking for the fastest way to get my characters up and going so have learnt the use of the skin modifier. I am glad that your tutorials have brought me back down to the basics I had forgotten and now I feel Like I have a whole new lease on life lol. Thank you so much. You most definitely get a well deserved sub from me. I am with you sensei.

Hey, Fruit...this video & the simple face rig using shape keys video are the holy grail I’ve been searching for. So few vertices to define the character shape and, more importantly, to control animated expressions...absolutely elegant engineering. Regardless of final design, the mindset behind this approach is genius...a template for efficient design & animation. Why make it harder than it has to be? “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.” Albert Einstein. Thanks 🙏🥃🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩 Hope your channel thrives.

@@FruitZeus ...blender can be very intimidating and some of the gurus make it even more obscure. Your presentation was like coming up for air. For now, I’m sticking with the shape key “sliders” for facial animation...reminds me of the recording studio. ✌️🎩

I'm following this tutorial again only this time I'm trying to make my character look different than yours. Planning to do the clothing tutorial after this one. (I would follow the eyeball tutorial if you made it.). Also I would be curious to see a tutorial on setting up the "world" environment(s) that one of your characters. I'm working on a project and I'm slowly collecting my assets but I can't seem to make the world around it look inviting. I'd be interested in hearing how you'd go about setting up something like that. In my project, it mostly takes place outside.

It's funny, although the tutorial seems quite simple, and I'm following each step you make, still my character doesn't look nearly as good as yours. It seems to me that everything went wrong from eyelids onward :-) I guess what makes you good is not your blender workflow, but your eye for details. Having said that, maybe one of your tutorials should focus more on that? Btw, thanks for sharing your knowledge!

The only thing I'd suggest is using a mirror modifier. I haven't finished watching the whole video so if for some reason this idea is problematic then I apologise haha. Very helpful though!
@FruitZeus
@FruitZeus 3 жыл бұрын
The Mirror modifier is a great tool! The only reason I don’t use it is because it’s hard to work the nose with the mirror modifier applied as it actually needs to occupy the center space of the model with some overlap. I’m just so accustomed to not using it that I’m pretty fluent at working both sides of the character at the same time without mirror modifier

Hello! Go inside the Modifiers panel on your character. You’ll find the subdivision modifier. Push the little upside down triangle in the right hand corner of the modifier. It should look like 3 dots in the shape of an upside down triangle. This will indicate that your modifier will be visible in edit mode.
