ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZfaq and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I watch a lot of golf instruction videos and Danny Maude is definitely top of the list for training. What sets him apart is that his explanations are clear and easy to understand. Thanks again Danny, wish you lived in western Canada and I could take in a few lessons.

This is exactly what I needed at this stage in my game. I implemeted your drills and recorded my swing which has never looked and felt stronger and smoother. These drills are allowing me to get the correct lag in my downswing, allowing my hands and upper body to be more relaxed through the swing, and promoting a more consistent tempo. This is a keeper.

I love that Danny always focuses on a "natural", "easy" swing. I have been trying to "force" lag with hand position and forward shaft lean. This video will help me get a smoother swing. Great help.

I have heard a lot of talk about needing lag but have never heard anyone break it down and actually explain how to create it. I have seen players bring the club down just like you demonstrate and think that helps create something good (lag) but you give clear, concise direction for how to make it happen in a real swing....Thank you Danny!

I've struggled with an early release and, despite taking quite a few lessons over the years, I never really understood lag and how to create it before watching this video. The towel drill is brilliant and so easy to create the sensation of unwinding and whipping the club through impact. I tried this today at the range and saw an immediate difference in the quality of my impact and ball strikes. I did the towel drill, then, hit 4 or 5 balls, did the drill again, hit some more balls, and finally began to feel like my hands were releasing through impact instead of on the way down. Thank you Danny for this video (and the others I've watched). You've made a KZfaq fan for life!!

Great explanation and drills. This is a way of understanding what Hogan called the "chain action" in the downswing. He said the order of the body parts must be: Hips, shoulders, arms, hands, and then the clubhead. This creates tremendous speed with minimum effort. I think timing of the start of the downswing is important in getting good "lag" in the swing. Start the legs before the backswing is finished and you won't get full distance in the shot. Start too late and the club has already rebounded off the top and it's hard to get everything going in the proper sequence. There is a short segment of time when the lower body should start moving, for best results. I think that is why you hear a lot of pros say when they practice, they work on timing and tempo.

Danny that is the best discription of lag. You explain it so well. It all makes since to me . Lower body first , upper second. Wrist snap at impact. Great drills . Have doing them at home. Idea train the body for the movements. After doing many repetitions , it will become automatic. Again you explain things so so well . Golf instruction is lucky to have you.

Hi Danny I watched this video 3 times this morning before going to play golf , you made me realise I was not relaxed enough and not using my lower body more arms and gripping the club to tight as well, so I totally relaxed today and ( wow ) what a difference it made effortless power and more accurate shots and the more I relaxed the easier it was to strike the ball and it eliminated my lower back pain. Many thanks again for all the time and effort you put into your videos it's very much appreciated.

Hello Danny, just to let you know how brilliant your videos are, last week I spent about ten hours practicing stance and swings, how to keep my body in the correct position when swinging and how to follow through. On Sunday with the temperature at 102 deg I had the best game ever, two pars, and five holes with one over par, no swearing and no club throwing. Excellent game and all down to your videos. Thank you for all you do.

our golf coach in college used the paint brush drill and explaining the brush being full of paint and where u wanted to flick the paint..release too early the paint was way behind the ball release later as you body turns and the paint is at the ball area where it should be..we actually used a real brush but dipped in water and had cardboard on the ground but it helped to understand what your looking to achieve..he also always reminded us the swing starts with the club, hands, arms, shoulders torso, hips and legs and the downswing is a complete opposite where the swing starts from legs, hips, torso, shoulders, arms, hands then the club...alot of collegiate coaches want you to keep that angle and hold it long for basically more power especially wedge play but when our new coach got us into making a big release with the club and letting go we all hit the ball better and noticed much higher..when i practiced hitting around 3000 balls and dialed in my club release our div 1 tournament i shot 66,68 and we went on to win..i hadnt shot in the sixties for about 6 months..even when my putting was bad hitting wedges and short irons stiff makes putting alot easier..

I have always struggled with this "lag" thing - I thought I could never do that since my arms were not strong enough to hold the angle:) Now I finally understood what it's all about! It's created naturally by lower and upper body separation? Wow, I play tennis, so this is similar mechanism as when I swing tennis racket? I can't wait to try it out tomorrow! Thanks, Danny! You're the best!

Superb explanation again from Danny. This has really helped me loosen up on the backswing and allowed me to move my lower body more. Still a little unsure as to how much you 'pull' the arms down as you rotate, but from my practice on the driving range, the simple motion of rotating the hips and lower body seems to pull the arms down automatically. Will keep working on this. Thanks again!

Great advice, I fell into that trap of keeping the 45* angle on the downswing, and forgetting totally about moving my lower body, I was basically flat footed until after impact. Interested to know though what position you're head should be in at impact with irons, as with driver when you're head is well behind the ball. Thanks again Danny

Great video. A very lose right hand helps. . I love the starting the lower before finishing the backswing. I tend to forget great tips.

I'm really enjoying your content. In another video you have about hitting your irons pure, you mention actively bring the hands and arms down into the ball. So are both methods valid?

As I start to understand the golf swing more and more your videos make more and more sense to me. I was trying this at the range yesterday with good success with my irons. I tried it with the driver but realized I had to make minor changes in the way my weight transfers cause your driving up on the ball rather than down. Maybe you could do a club head lag video specific for a driver?

great vid! i have way too long of a swing and sometimes at the top of my swing my club almost wobbles out of my hand, but it's always felt good and is usually a solid shot, i never understood why i did it and enjoy the feel of it UNTIL NOW... i just realized i'm lagging at the top of my swing!!!! can't wait to go work on lagging lower and later in my swing! might help me shorten my swing too!! thx so much!

just got back from my 2nd visit to the range. was hitting 8 irons beautifully and further than everyone using woods because i followed your instructions. my use of woods was awful though :-( will concentrate on your driving and wood use videos this week. i can't wait to actually try playing 18 holes rather than the pitch and putt games i started last month. #lovethisgamealready thanks again danny.

Loved watching your video, will try connecting to what you said today in the range . My problem is the connection between the club and the ball , I always tend to hit before or top of the ball . Have been really wanting to know why so . Your video was of great help , will try today for sure .

Hi Danny - THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS and for posting so many drills and tutorials!!!. This in conjunction with "Best ROTATION DRILL for your Backswing and Downswing - It's super SIMPLE!" have been the secret to improve my golf swing. Top tip is to video your swing at a high frame rate (60 frames per second is OK, but the higher the better) facing to the side and from the back of your stance... review... SEE where your problem is and do drills to resolve it! I Subscribed (& notifications enabled) to your channel, THANK YOU again Danny Maude for sharing so much! 👍
