I have been working with slicers for a while and I had no idea they could be assigned to any (or all) pivot tables in the file. Thanks for the hint and the excellent tutorial.

It's a great video thank you so much. I have one question, can you please help - in Slicer: report connection, I am unable to see all three pivot tables. It's only showing one or in another slicer, it is showing 2 pivot tables.

Make sure that the Pivot Tables are created from the same data source, or else you cannot connect them.

+אבי לוי You will first need to create a Pivot Table and then you need to click inside the Pivot Table and go to PivoTable Tools > Analyze > Insert Slicers. Thanks, John

Thanks for watching! If you go under Data and then click the arrow next to Refresh All there is an option for Connection Properties. In there is a setting you can change to refresh data every x minutes.

right from the first screen shot that appears of the Excel sheet, we have 2 tabs already there..Data I can understand but where do you get that 'Dashboard' sheet in there..? Please let me know..!

Hi. Thanks for the question! You could try this: Insert a new column in your spreadsheet and enter the name “Slices” for this field. Open up the ribbon at the top of Excel and click on Data > More Conditional Formatting Options ー> New Item Type > Columnar report with list slices that will be automatically saved as part of your workbook when you save it ().

It's hit or miss on tools going back that far to 2007. Sorry. There is a free version of Excel at office.com if you would like to try that one.

I have a question, when I am updating the data base with fresh raw data (Same format), the pivot table & chart are not being updated. I have to redo the whole thing again every time I get new data. Any advise?

Yes. If you click in the top left cell of the Pivot Table, you can right click and hit Refresh. Hope that helps.
