​@@Noisegate picked up a used one for $500 in great shape. It's crazy how useful and accessible this piece of equipment is for literally any genre. It doubles as a midi keyboard for my MPC, and a lot of the functionality/effects/sound-shaping of the Minifreak is still optional, evn when I'm utilizing a voice from a plug-in on the MPC. Moreover, I can sequence a progression and record that into the mpc while I simultaneously play a melody over top; which is awesome for efficiency and workflow.

@@prendelalumbreofficial714 that was a portion of my trepidation buying used, actually. If I could take a picture and show you, I would, but . . The Minifreak comes with a registration card in its own plastic, which I had no issues with registering and gaining access to the Minifreak V plug-in (vst? Whatever it's called). My recommendation, if purchasing used, is to make sure the seller includes this information and some sort of guarantee that they deregistered. I wouldn't have necessarily known this beforehand, but somewhere -within the plethora of information I was digesting, I've come to discover that depending on the device/equipment/instrument . . . It isn't always as easy. However, I bought a Roland Sp404 MKii and an MPC Live, essentially at the same time, and didn't have any issues with them either. I'm a cynical person, so I definitely expected to have problems. I'd have to assume that the sellers all were just decent enough dudes selling some gear. So at the very least, research your ass off, and ask even the questions you think could be construed as dumb. One thing I always kept with me from grade school: Don't ever be afraid to ask questions. Maybe not the best advise for someone who would grow to be such a contrarian like myself, but that's more me being a product of my irregular environment. I digress. There should be a card that comes with it that has a QR code, serial number, and unlock code. Don't purchase it if it doesn't have it. Side note: I've noticed some screen glitching and screen switching, but Idk if that is user error on my behalf. The buttons are sensitive, and a headphone cord brushing against one of em could change something while you're cooking up. I also believe that it was partly do to erroneously configuring the midi flow between devices. So again, and in conclusion, research your ass off.

@@cervantesthenilbog7513 thank You so much for your time and helpful reply ! .. only reason I ask is because I also wanted to buy it used but everyone wanted to keep the V version and still sell the hardware for 550?:( so I figured buy new but go try it out somewhere and make sure I really love it (which I did end up loving a lot ) … I made sure to get a brand new one being that you can buy the “minifreak v “for 200$…… I figured I wouldn’t be able to find a minifreak hardware synth for 400 or less without the plug in. … and most Definitely did a lot of research ..

In all honesty you would probably be best just programming the steps to make that kind of delay you’re looking for. Placing snares a step earlier or a step later. Some machines have a swing option though I believe.

THere is always the Korg Volca Drum

It literally is Midi out of the Drum Machine as the master and Midi into the synth and a slave. There are heaps of videos out there with further explanation
