Create parcel in Civil3D for drainage analysis

In this tutorial, I show how to create a "parcel" in Civil3D which will then appear as an object in the Storm and Sanitary Analysis application. The use of parcels is vital in SSA if you want to analyse for different types of hardstanding/roof/landscape areas within your project.

Can you demonstrate how to breakdown a parcel into the connected impervious, disconnected impervious and pervious (grass, trees, shrubs, etc.) Is there an analysis of some sort that needs to be run in C3D or Map3D?

I'm not entirely sure I understand. Do you mean that you have different parts of the site that are made up of 100% impervious and 100% permeable materials? I've accounted for that by saying that a certain amount of the parcel is roof, a certain amount is hard-standing and a certain amount is grass. Perhaps that's a bit of a crude way of doing it, but it works. Another way would be to draw parcel shapes for each element separately, so that you have a parcel shaped to represent the roof, another parcel shaped for the hard-standing and another shaped for the grass. In that case, you could set it up so that 100% of each shape has the run-off properties of the material.
