Incredible Thrift Flips Hiding in My Stash... using White Swan DIY Paint

This week I am upcyling small thrifted items to keep at home or resell in my booth. I shopped my stash (aka hoard) and created new items that are more my style to sell in my booth! I use DIY paint in the color White Swan along with Big Top as a top coat. I also used an IOD Stamp: La Campagne and Kindest Regards. Thank you so much for coming along with me on this journey! But, peeling that Elmer's Glue from the palm of my hands was The Best, LOL😜 Yes, I did that too. I had to back up the video just to make sure you had said that, love it! I love that you saved those two pitchers! Not everything needs to be painted! Ive seen book folded pieces. It was fun to see it done. I havent got the patience but love the art. Your daughter is very talented!

She absolutely did amazing! You are so lucky that she even wants to be involved. I haven’t done hair all my life and could never get my daughter interested at all, even though she does her own, and is very very good at it! My granddaughter, however, that I have had since birth! As 15 now, and I let her cut my hair, she loves that… :-)

I really like the book pages folded. Piper did very well! 🙌💖 the rolling pins and the cutting board are fantastic. I also peeled Elmer’s glue off my hands however never ate the paste when I was a little kid 😂

I love the pitchers! Glad you salvaged them! The cutting board is adorable! I love that color ink, I use the Ranger or Tim Holtz vintage colors. I actually scrape the pad along the sides of the pieces I do to get a rustic look. 😊

The wine box came out good. I would paint the border inside the dark stamp color. I LOVE the rolling pins!! My Son has a book that is folded too, they are cool! Can you water color on the stamp images? Might look cool. TFS. 😊❤👍

These are all awesome. I am going to have to try these today. I love the book folding. Only suggestion would be to paint the book cover to match the decor. You could even put IOD moulds on the cover for 3D interest. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Loved the book page folding! The pitchers are lovely! Love the stamps you used on the wine bottle, I have them and upcycled an old entertainment center and used them on it. It turned out beautifully! 🤗

*FYI, Heather...for things with chips that I find thrifting that I am buying for my own decor (I am not a reseller, nor would I sell something that is chipped - but I may have made an exception for that Frankoma piece! 🤪) I have found it really easy to repair chips with the IOD Air Dry Clay. (Over)fill in the chip; let dry and sand smooth. (I use a white fingernail buffing block made for artificial nails 💅 because the grit is so fine and the white dust doesn't show.) Then I match the paint and paint the chip. It's best to use paint used for China and ceramics, but I have even been known to use nail polish in a matching color or any other paint and seal it in with polycrylic or even a thin layer of clear super glue. 😜🤪😝🤣*

I do the same thing. I use a bit of glue when I fill the chip. Sometimes I will color with alcohol markers. I have made repairs that I can't find afterward. Ok to put in your booth if you say "repaired" or some such. It should be disclosed tho.

@@CreateYourOwnCozy *Give it a try....you might be surprised at how seamless a repair can be❣️😁 I do them for my own pieces, but like I said, reselling with a disclosure I believe, is perfectly acceptable, because there are people like me who WANT old things and will accept repairs IF they are GOOD QUALITY repairs WITH disclosure. 💜*

All across or amazing as always I had to look you up. I’ve been stuck on a couple scrap wood projects, but I was missing seeing what you were up to and had done lately. This was a great video! 🤣 I use speakerphone only my hands are always be there in a chickens butt… LOL or and paint it’s just easier. Hopefully you can make my messages out and never have time to go back and proofread too much work. Obviously, I am a talker. My granddaughter is trying to teach me to make shorter text messages…😂
