As much as I love this horse, I can't help but feel that it isn't actually black. It resembles more of a dark bay/seal brown and your reference DEFINITELY is seal brown so I'm wondering how you'd go about painting a true black horse, maybe using a Friesian as a reference

That was so helpful. It’s really cool to have you around to show us how to do all the things. I tried doing a lot of this as a kid and it just didn’t go as well as I wanted it too. It’s a much different story now that I’m an adult.

Yes, you can totally do this technique with Pastel, building up the same colour in layers.

Hello! please tell me pastel on a horse sticks to your fingers? Can I varnish it with a brush? or a brush with varnish will ruin the pastel and smear it?

You cannot touch the pastel once it is applied. It will leave fingerprints. You need to use an aerosol spray as painting on sealer will just smear the pastel around. It will not work.

Is there a way to paint a good quality black color without an airbrush?

Yeah! Lots of dark dark and black blending, very light layers and stuff. If you have pastels too they are just as good as an airbrush, but they take longer obviously
