Creating A Minecraft Server With Mine OS

Hello KZfaq, today we are going to be talking about setting up a Minecraft Server using Mine OS. Mine OS is a free Linux distribution that makes setting up and running a Minecraft server a snap. It has a lot of built in features and a web ui that makes management of the server simple. If you have an old computer lying around you can just install Mine OS on that computer and get things up and running even easier. However, today we are going to focus on what to do if you don’t have an extra PC running around. You can run Mine OS from your own computer as a virtual machine using completely free software.
If you want to allow friends outside your network to join the server you will need to set-up port forwarding and have your outside IP handy or a DDNS if you have a DHCP ISP. We will talk about this in another video.

Hey everywhere i go to access server files for example fille Zilla it says permission denied but when i try to log in as root it says authentication denied and I'm sure that the password is correct even on the machine running the server it says permission denied when i try to edit permissions please help

I can't connect and when I try pinging the service with command prompt, it tells me that the destination host is unreachable.

Hi, I saw your Video about the Virtual Tablet Software. Maybe you can help me with this one: I got the Samsung Tab S4 with the SPen. I just would like to open a grafic and draw on it while recording this in maximum quality. 1. Problem the recording function from Samsung is max 15 seconds. A screen recording App kills the quality immense. The Goodnotes App for IPad would the ideal. Opening a file in the App, writing on it and recording in the same time in high resolution. Do you have an idea for an App or a somehow solution for the Samsung Tab S4?

Are you sure it's not just prompting you with the website not secure? Should be able to click to proceed at the bottom.

There's a way to do it I think if you ftp into the server there's the default icon and you can replace it with your own.

So I finally figured it out if you haven't. Easiest way is ftp into the server. Use something like Filezilla and use the server local ip. Then login with the same root info you picked on setup. Go here: var/games/minecraft/servers/serverNameHere Then drop in the server-icon.png you created. Should work.

For the web ui no. The server can depending on how many people you want in the server.

when i do ip forwarding no one can join my server and if i used mineoos does that makes people can join? or the same

It would be the same. You'd still need port forwarding.

@@ParsecMedia i did it but still when i try server status checker it says my server offline i watched every ipforward video even i disabled firewall and i added allow 25565 rule and nothing changed my router: ZXHN H108N V2.5 (Te-Data)

head over to your router. find its gateway ip by typing ipconfig on a windows pc connected to the router. paste it in a browser to access its settings. find the port forward options and paste in the local ip and port of your server.

Sorry for a late reply. I have been away from KZfaq for a while now. The correct way is to forward the port in your router default is 25565. Your friends then join by your external IP address. There are other ways this is just probably the most straight forward. If enough people are interested I can do a basic video explaining port forwarding.

Oh for your web ui? I'd try reinstalling mine os if you have nothing invested into that installation. If you do you have to check out the commands to rebuild the web ui. And you can try that.

Server runs on whatever version you picked at the time. It's possible the jar updated since then you can select the newer version in the mine os panel.

@@ParsecMedia Solved months later! replaced the isp equipment with my own. Now running a motorola modem and a dd wrt router. MUCH better :) all good now
