I love the way your space is emerging...so peaceful! 🌿 I'm 68 years and I agree, we've been programmed to see the transition of menopause as such a burdensome thing, an embarrassment, a crazy time of a woman's life...the fact that they named it menopause says it all 😁. But the truth is, it's such a special, such a feminine time. It's a time that opens the doors for bonding with other women, because no matter how unique and individual we are, it is a time of coming together on common ground. Our mindset about this transition, is probably the most important emotional and/or spiritual foundation for "navigating" the physiological changes our beautiful bodies are experiencing. One door is closing, and another, beautiful new world is opening! ❤️ There are a lot of hands on, practical things we can do to get through the transition and I know your viewers will provide some valuable suggestions and information. My participation, for whatever it's worth, is to encourage my sister's 💕 to embrace the transition. You are emerging from a chrysalis, although beautiful, you are now becoming that independent, confident, wise, loving, kind and gracious woman that has so much to give back to the world. 🦋

You said a world of truth here. I'm delighted to say I'm experiencing similar shifts in my consciousness and my desire to be available to my sisters to share and uplift as we move into our unfolding lives , I am 57 . It is a Divinely feminine experience. There are many pros to this phase of our lives right along side of the more challenging bits. Lol. Thank you for sharing such wonderful thoughts. 😊

I don't know if you are interested, but have a suggestion for storage and a work top. My husband and I take 2 short filing cabinets that have 2 drawers each. Then we take a long piece of shelving wood and lay across the file cabinets giving us a work desk, and additional storage. Plus make sure you have the cabinet bases with wheels so you can move them around as needed, and much easier. By the way, your little grand dog is precious. Hugs from Virginia, USA.❤️🇺🇸

Oh Wendy! I share in the basket weakness, it’s been a real issue at times and recently I white washed all my old dusty ones and it brought me so much joy, they’re so hard to keep dust free too. Peppermint oil is good for brain fog and I burn it in my candle burners. I absolutely love all the subjects you bring up, your so authentic and I know I’m not alone when I say I appreciate you and all your gifts, I feel honoured that you’re feeling safe enough to share, I see it as though you get downloads, as though you’re channeling it’s all so magical, many thanks for all you do and all your beautiful loveliness 💛

Hi Tania, I don't know if this is obvious but... I try to hoover my baskets every time I clean my house, maybe every other time if I'm feeling lazy lol 🙈 sounds like a lot of effort but I do most of my dusting with the brush attachment anyway so it's really no bother just takes an extra few minutes.. after I've dusted with the brush attachment and hoovered the floors I then go through with a soft cloth and polish glass etc. I was a housekeeper for many years and now make art at home ( creating lots of mess/dust!) so efficient cleaning strategies are of interest to me lol. Very rock and roll!
@taniaspence4879
@taniaspence4879 2 жыл бұрын
@@anima6035 thank you, it’s great to chat about it isn’t it? I need to invest in a brush attachment, my newest hoover which I brought about a year and a half ago was very cheap and of course I didn’t check all the attachments properly. I thought it was such a bargain and got it too quickly. Although I can afford a new one I’ve gone down the path of landfill.... silly me.... my own fault.... blah all the usual self abuse that occurs. Really just living in a state of lack with it. Maybe it’s time I give myself permission to have made a mistake and get it recycled and stop living in a cycle of perpetual time consuming self punishment 😂 I’ve been a housekeeper/ matron all my life too, I wonder if we’re attracted to baskets from previous lives.... I’m certain I’ve been a washer woman many times before, I know how to do it so well and can’t remember ever being taught about it 😂😂 blimey I can go on! Yes very rock and roll aren’t we 😂😂😂

I love your workspace nook. It looks like the heart of your creative being. My suggestion for storing things in this space: - keep your various paints, pencils, brushes, etc. within arms reach (because you need to be able to reach for them while you work - what you are currently using should be on the desk, the other items can be stored under the shelf on your desk or organized in a set of shelves or drawers in a small cabinet or table that is positioned under your work table to the left of your leg where you currently are storing the small canvases)... - keep blank canvases, paper, and sketchbooks within standing reach (since you get them once when you start working - like on the small shelf you want to put up on the wall to the left (why not put it above the large canvas you have stored)... - keep your inspiration within eye reach (on the walls, on top of your desk shelf, wherever your eyes wander), or within resting reach (near your daybed), or wandering reach (if you need to stretch your legs)... - keep the things you don't use often within ladder reach (on the high shelves... the important thing is that they don't get the primary working space in your studio, but go into hibernation until they are called into service. ... and ignore all my advice because studios should be organic and reflect the artists. :) One last piece of advice as to brain fog... if you think it could be serious, please seek medical advice. Social media advice can be all over the place and, while well intended, may not be the best advice for you. Thank you for your calming videos... Happy painting... I'm headed to my studio. :)

Black Cohosh = a hormone stabilizer. I’m going to try it myself. In mythology moving from each phase of womanhood is very sacred. Transformation is a holy time. The vulnerability is our strength. Takes incredible courage! ✨🧚🏼🦋I’m sure fairy grace can tell you all about it 😉 xoxo

You seem so very happy in your nook! It is your sacred space for your sacred time of life. I will be 70 later this year, so went through menopause quite some time ago. Once I got over the insomnia, life has been amazing! I do hope you and all the sisters here experience the same feeling of freedom and, yes, wisdom that comes with becoming the matriarch of your family. Wendy, thank you for all you share with us, and especially your wonderful smile! Hugs and love from across the ocean.

Your studio looks like it is morphing into a cosy, inspiring and creative space. For organising on the cheap, I use cardboard shipping boxes converted into cubby shelving, and glue or fix handles or ribbon straps to smaller boxes to use as removable drawers (pull out and they are trays on the desk, but can be snugged away in their cubby). Great for different types of pencils (I don't need mine laid flat, just together), or supplies (all the ink pads together, so I can find the colours I want that day). And by reusing that cardboard, I save my pennies for a few gorgeous baskets and bamboo or wood boxes and trays! I have my shelves in front of my work area, and my inspiration boards (magnetic, cork, and a ribbon tuck board) to either side. I love the mirror idea - I use a small version of a rounded one (the kind that people stick at ends of tight driveways to see if traffic is coming); it allows me to relax, as I can glance up and see a big area behind me. We each have to do what we need to make our space comfortable, and keep our most used tools within reach. Love the family! Thank you and a hug to James, Jazzy, and Jeffie for helping you in the studio. Wonderful to have a hand at times. Finally, I LOVE Grace! She is beautiful; and she looks as if she's just realising that she has wings! And they work! And her toes are lifting off the ground! A wondrous (and nervous) time, discovering that you can fly! How life-changing. Perhaps Grace has come to visit to remind us all that the transition and metamorphoses we go through can be a little scary, but kind of amazing too. I take gingko biloba to battle my brain f(r)of. But I also realise that sometimes amazing ideas come out of the mist. I write more things down, so I don't forget them. And I jot notes in my phone (sometimes with little notifications or alarms to remind me to do important tasks). Menopause is a wild ride for me, but while I have wild surges of emotions, fatigue, and sleeplessness, I also get surges of creativity and ideas (sometimes I can't write fast enough). Oops! Doing a bit of a waffle myself. May all of us experience surges in creativity and find wonder in our wings! Thank you for sharing tea with us. Even when you feel lonely, we're all here together. Much love, and huge squishy hugs.

Rosemary is traditionally used for remembering and I find it helps me to have a sprig on my art table. Brain fog during menopause is something I rarely issue with , but post covid brain fog is very real! I am literally halfway through a sentence and either I’ll forget the point of it or say a random word. I recently told a colleague I always wear an umbrella whilst painting..I meant an apron. Both keep you dry 😂Menopause is such a right of passage why isn’t it discussed more? Hooray for the uprising of the older women to pass on to our younger sisters the knowledge of the next phase. It’s liberating 🙏🏻🤗💛Softest hugs to you dearest Wendy,sending sunshine ☀️ to keep your light shining ,your videos are always very warmly received and very much appreciated…mwah 💋

Hiya Wendy. I chose to be bold when I was in my penomause phase. I went out & asked all my friends & female family members what the menopause was like for them. It was great as I got such honest answers. I also got lots of suggestions of ways that helped them. The biggest noticeable assistance was a magnet that you wear in your underwear/knickers that helps reduce hotflushes/flashes. It did work to a point for about a year. I came off caffeine totally. Homeopathy helped. Thank you for all you do for your tribe, especially in Patreon. 🧚‍♀️🥰❤️🫂

What I've learned, having gone through it, is that brain fog is inevitable. HSPs (highly sensitive people) find it makes them anxious. I've simply stopped letting it bother me so much. Relax and know it's simply a moment and it will pass. By not letting it make me anxious, it seems to pass much more quickly. It's part of the process which you can't hurry, nor should you try. Meditation and being mindful helps as well. You are fine, you're going to be fine and dear Wendy, you are not alone HUG!

Hi Wendy! A coworker of mine recommended the book “What Fresh Hell Is This?: Perimenopause, Menopause, Other… “ by Heather Corinna. She has been experiencing menopause and really loved this book. I love that you’re so open about menopause and hope that people who watch your channel will also look into andropause, which is the male version of menopause. The gender spectrum of humans experience symptoms related to hormonal changes and it’s nothing for us to be ashamed of nor embarrassed about. It’s normal and healthy! Thank you for helping to destigmatize menopause! :)

Then you can easily move your supplies between your tables. I'm thinking something that slides under your tables. You can put the water colores on top but the pencils just underneath. Perhaps just a way to store and move them then spread them out on the tables. I hope that makes sense...

Wendy thanks for talking about menopause. We are the same age and I’m on again off again. I feel the same way that we should talk about it so it’s common knowledge. When I was younger it was always referred to as “the change”. What? That is so vague. It doesn’t help younger women prepare at all. I’m trying to document it as much as possible so my daughters will have something to go from. Loving watching your studio evolve, mine is too.

Being a "Health and Safety nut" and pretty much a "broken person" I truly appreciate the lengths you are exploring with "Ergonomics Correct & Friendly" for everyone out there in Creative Land. This is a proactive action and user friendly artist space Wendy is creating and with in mind her "left -hand-ness" challenges. Truly any space designed for a creative type person is 1,000% their person Sacred Space. The comfort and easability of your studio is welcoming and absolutely will be an "ever changing space". X's always to you and James (and family members). LJ in the Land of Enchantment.

What a lovely wee dog. I’m very luck to have two studio dogs, one sleep under the desk and the other sits on a chair beside me while I work ❤️ However, your studio is really starting to take shape. It took me ages to get mine sorted, but it’s really worthwhile. I wish you many happy and productive times in it.

Wendy ,you have done such a wonderful job fixing your cozy studio . I have been with you through all 3 of your studios , and you always make them so inviting and cozy . I would love to see a tour of the nook when you are done . I always get inspired when I see the little spaces you create. Hang in there and you will get through the menopause before you know it . Been through it and there is a light shining bright at the end , I promise . cheers to you and James . see you next video ~love and light ~Laura ❤️

Rosemary essential oil is supposed to help with clarity. Put two drops at your temples, probably diluting with some carrier oil first.

I think its great to talk about the menopause. I like your description of it as a "sacred moment" in the cycle. I've been dished a lot of fear- inducing comments about it that makes me dread the coming years and changes. So to see you moving so gracefully but honestly through it gives me hope! ❤

Your studio is so special .....my grandson was visiting so all my art stuff had to be put away. After he'd gone i started working on some cards- getting more stuff out but then he was back unexpectedly .... So everything went away again. Its hard to get in the zone again .......its not nice to be envious but I am a little bit - I enjoy your videos and I can dream .

Hi Wendy, I just want to say that i always feel a bit lonely when i am alone after spending time with my doughters. When they go it feels a bit like Loosing them, it always takes time for me to ajust myself again🥺 I like your little nook! And maybe when the cardboard King returnes you can decorate your boxes with nice wrappingpaper or paint! Then they will be beautiful too👍😃❤️

Make recycled cardboard boxes for storage look much cooler by gluing a bit of decorative paper from your stash (or buy a cheap roll of gift wrap with your favorite colors) and glue it onto the boxes on the visible edges. Unifies and beautifies and is lots of fun!

Always up for a tour Wendy! Loved having some time with your fur baby grandson.💖 So sweet! Mine passed on just recently after 12 long years of loving him. The clips you shared of this little darling warmed my heart as I do miss my fur-baby grandson. Yes! to destigmatizing the many changes woman go through. We need more celebration and conversation around what we all experience and how to make these inevitable changes comfortably. Thank you for providing a space here for that...and true, it is so different for each of us! Oh, I so related to the lonely feeling after a visit from a loved one! I live alone and cherish when a loved one comes to stay for awhile...but those first few days after they are gone can be hard. ☹ Thank you as always for keeping me company on my Sunday morning.☕ Sending much love and Aloha across the many miles!🌺💖💫🌈🥰🙋‍♀️

I loved this. Your studio is wonderful! I have a fairly big studio but currently have two other people using some of the space for a bit. I try to keep my area as stress free and useful as possible but it is hard when you’ve got two other people sniffing, coughing, moving about and talking, making noise and painting things that don’t at all promote peace and beauty! It’s only temporary, so that is good. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

I’ve been missing you Wendy so it is good to catch you this morning at 4 am. I’m not a working artist but have about 14 nature journals done but no one ever sees them because live “in nature” and hard for town friends to get here. I would be terribly lonesome but have a great smart curly-haired Pumi dog who never lets me out of his sight! So I was thinking maybe it would be nice for you to go to a shelter and find yourself a small adult doggy friend? My boy is about 9 and sleeps a lot and no trouble in any way. But always ready in an instant to go outside for a walk or ball toss or just a “discussion” about life - tips his head and listens or adds some doggy noises. Maybe not allowed where you live and work so just my idea. But I see how you love your grand-dog. I miss my daughter too. I am loving your art❤️

This is a lovely video as always! Fairy Grace is so sweet! It was really nice to see your family members and granddog keeping you company. On the brain fog, I have Fibro fog due to Fibromyalgia. My Rheumatologist prescribes some medicine which helps all my Fibro problems including the fog. Still it doesn’t cure it. The fog can certainly be frustrating. So far the beginning stages of menopause has not made my fog worse, but I am ready for that to possibly happen. My husband is so sweet. When I can’t think of a word I am trying to say, he just waits patiently and doesn’t rush me. His patience makes me feel better.

LOVE Fairy Grace! AND Granddoggie! ❤️ Brain Fog...Huge improvement with Lion's Mane mushroom extract powder. I use the capsules, and not only do I feel "sharper", my husband is clearer too! We had both moms with memory illness, so I'm an avid student of brain health. Healthy fats are a must!!! And what's good for the noggin is also good for the heart ❤️

Good afternoon, Wendy! Space looks awesome! Before I forget, I highly recommend Rowe Casa products. They have something for brain fog, called Period Drops. I've already gone thru menopause, BUT!, the products that I have tried are excellent. I've had so much trouble sleeping since pandemic/quarantine and I on tiktok someone raved about their Tart Cherry liquid. ThE best thing I have ever taken for sleep issues. The BesT! Anyhow, just wanted to share.Have an awesome day! Love from Massachusetts
