Let's start by choosing magazine pages that are good for surreal collaging and then create a collage from start to finish. Hi, Barbie! What an imagination you have! You are right - this type of collage does take time and thought as to what works for it. Sometimes I can come up with a great idea and other times I am not so good at it. It is fun to just let it happen. You don't seem to ever run out of ideas and I love watching you bring it all together.

Love this! I really enjoy surreal collage. Lately I’ve been playing with post cards. The small format can be quite challenging. Thanks for sharing your process. I always enjoy watching other artists work and learning about how they approach materials and ideas.

Love your collage pages. Also like your book recommendations from your last video. I borrowed “The Other Daughter” from Libby the online library while I watched that video. I couldn’t put it down, and finished in 2 days. I’ll be starting “Somebody’s Daughter” tonight. Thanks

Thanks so much Donna and I'm so happy you picked up The Other Daughter. Lisa Gardner is the best; the Dectective D.D. Warren Series is great. Definitely read her Frankie Elkin series - only two books there and really, really good. I think you'll like David Bell and Somebody's Daughter was really good. Not as many 'big' twists but I was very surprised at the end of this one. Happy Reading and keep me posted.

Hi there, I do mainly digital collage but I'm getting a little frustrated with it. I keep wanting to do things that can only be done well with analogue. I think one can almost be more creative going the analogue route. I like how you tell a little story as you go along making the collage. Thanks for the inspiration.

This was so fun!!! And I laughed out with glee when you said Paul Anka because I was obsessed with his music as a kid. Found one of his records at the library sale for $2 and never looked back. I do lots of collage work, but have never tried surreal collaging. Will definitely have to try this soon. Thanks for sharing.

15 years i have been doing realistic portraits,from pencil to canvas painting , after a long pause because of lack of inspiration and my overthinking what shuld i do next , this is what I want to do next. Almost like all my life I knew what I want and i didnt know the word for it. @shari6110 The grass isn't always greener on the other side, it still needs mowing and watering 🤣 I decided years ago if I hopped the fence, I'd end up on a lawn with lots of weeds, burnt areas and thistles. What I have is wonderful and my mother taught me many years ago, when aggravation came knocking on my door to smile, count to 10 and walk away. 🤣🤣🤣 smart women ♥️

Hi Mary, and welcome 🤗 I'm so happy you enjoyed the video and my work! Thank you for subscribing, and I hope you like other videos I've made. I use Art Glitter Glue but looking for a new one. I love the art glitter glue, but I can't use it on magazine images, if they go back to the 1940's 50's or 60's....I use it sparingly. I could see taking parts of images and using the parts for texture and color, so they are almost unrecognizable. But you’re talking about cutting out whole pieces of artwork and using them in your work. You’re going to have copyright problems. Plus magazine clippings aren’t archival. Better to take pics of what you want and print them out on an inkjet printer. Ink is archival.
