"Fossils" _________ Feafur = "Frozen Fang" (duh, it's the most iconic part of saber-toothed tigers) Phisnooz = "Frozen Trunk" (though I believe it's a tad morbid to just be carrying around the frozen nose of an ancient creature in your pocket, like Feafur's fossil, it's the most iconic part of the thing, so I got nothing else better) Macedontus = "Frozen Plate" (nothing wrong there, it's basically perfect) Crynorawst = "Frozen Horn" (again, duh, most iconic part of the animal) Follow-Up Idea: You bring these guys' fossils to a museum/fossil discovery center of some kind next to a "dig site" (where you can find said fossils) to revive the things. Perhaps they're even selling merchandise of them or something, such as Crynorawst plushies, plastic figurines of Macedontus, or even fake, collectors-edition versions of the fossils themselves. We have an Ice Age-specializing fossil discovery center here in my county in California, so I think that'd be cool (no pun intended).

Bruh the fact that these are ancestors of other pokemons is so immersive and makes these designs hold a special place in my heart.

By the way, this is probably my favorite fakemom region ever made. I would fight tooth and claw to make this real and I love the creativity behind your region’s lore, legendaries, competitive battle mechanics, and Pokémon concepts and origins. I always get excited when new Kaskade region videos come out! I was actually born in Washington state, part of the region Kaskade is based on, so I feel an extremely attachment to it. I love seeing my birthplace represented by one of my favorite franchises of all time!

The wild "fossil" pokemon in the crown tundra dlc dont have Galar variants that remove the rock typing. If they were never fossils what other types do you think they would have if any?

7:05 The ability could be called Temperature Shock, the effect where going from high temps to low(or vice versa) too quickly can cause shock in a patient. Though, that might work better as a name if the ability was that using a fire move immediately after an ice one(or vice versa) deals extra damage.

"North America has all sorts of unique fossils." Let me tell you about my home, West Virginia, and our one fossil, the Megalonyx, a giant ground sloth.

Honestly? That’s one of the best smilodon Pokémon concepts I’ve seen in a long while, kinda wish it was real actually.

This is so amazing. It is creative to have ice age Pokemon and go for the ice type. One of my favorite Pokemon is Amaura. It is so adorbale. It is unique in being both rock and ice. So it could be a regular fossil pokemon and an ice age pokemon. Granted it is based on a sauropod, which lived long before the age. Still the ice type is close enough. Maybe Amaura can be one of those NOT ice types, like Cloyster. I never noticed that Raikou was a saber toothed cat. I thought it was a dog Pokemon with a little bit of raiju mixed in. When the video talked about an icy predater, I thought of something that was fighting, rock or steel type. Any of these physical types would fit the saber fangs and claws really well. The fire type is unexpected, and that is neat. I did come up with a good ability. It is called freezer burn. It doubles the damage of both ice and fire moves. It is like thick fat, but more offensive. My favorite of the ice age pokemon is the armadillo one. It is an creature idea I come up with on my own. It is nifty how it is based on sandshrew and has the types of both regional varients. There are other good ideas. I have a creature idea that is based on the giant sloth. If it was in the Kaskade region, it could be ice-grass. Sloths are good at browsing in trees, and so it is like the grass type. Maybe it can be the ancester of the slakoth line. An Irish elk Pokemon would be super awesome. It could be the ancester of Deerling and Stantler. It makes good physical attacks with its antlers, so it could be ice-normal. My favorite prehistoric mammal is ambulocetus. It is an amphibious whale that resembles a crocodile. There is already a Kaskade Pokemon like this. It is the orca-wolf Pokemon that is water-dragon. If this was a fossil pokemon, than I think ice-water would be a good choice. Of all mammals whales are the most specialized in being aquatic. I can imagine this Pokemon being the ancester to the Wailmer line and possibly Kyogre. I like to make some of my own creatures like prehistoric creatures. I do have a fondness for dinosaurs, so I put that in. I integrate them into the tree of life, in a way that resembles how prehistoric animals fit in real life. In recent times, I did think of a way that I can give prehistoric animals special tretment. They appear in the middle of continents. They otherwise live in the wild just like regular animals. I even thought of whole sections of life that is primitive and good for fossils. The biggest is the dinosaurs, of the reptiles. There is more. There is primitive birds and mammals. There are fishlike creatures. This would include sharks, lampreys, dunklstes, ceolacanth, lungfish and tiktalik. In the bugs there are insects without metamorphosis, suck as dragonflies and roaches. There are relatives of spiders, like horshoe crabs, sea scorpions and sea spiders. Other bugs would include anomalocaris, trilobite, centapede and millipede. Mollusks can have ammonite. There can be brachiopod, which has the superficial resemblence to bivalve mollusks. Someone should make a brachipod Pokemon, that would be awesome. Since these creatures are also called lamp shells, there can be genei parts mixed in. This can be psychic-rock. For plants, there are plenty of nonflowring plants that give off a prehistoric vibe. It can be something like ferns and cycades. The lileep line is my pet peeve for something that should NOT be grass type. It has a unique typing of grass-rock. I think the best kind of Pokemon to have this type would be fossil pokemon based on prehistoric plants. I did designate sixteen creatures as extra special prehistoric creatures. They are in the middle of continents where the environment closely fits an element. Each creature has a different element. There is an earth ankylosaur, a poison sloth, a steel trilobit, a wood sauropod, a lava brachipod, a fire stegosaur, a sound spinosaur, a light dimetradon, an ice ambulocetus, a psychic hadrosaur, a water pachycehalosaur, a dark ceolanth, a cosmic pterosaur, and electric ammonite, a gravity elephant and an air triceratops. Fossil creatures are great for fleshing out the world.

I love the poor sick saber tooth cub that evolves to be a healthy king. The fact that you said that the macrauchenia's trunk resemble the macaroni noodle is that the saber tooth king finds him delicious. Just remembering the fifth episode of walking with beasts.

I think Vaicear’s ability could be something similar to what you suggested with raising physical attack, but perhaps instead of every time you use a fire or ice move, you instead reap the rewards of the ability every time you alternate between fire and ice moves. It would promote an interesting play-style, I think!

@lockstin. First of all id like to say, I love all your videos and how deep you go into the research and the hard work you do. I never was into fakemon but the way you explain the origins and reasoning makes your videos stand out. With that being said I have a challenge for you. I live in the midwest (I.E. IN) we’re not the most interesting region of the US. but if youre able to come up with a Fakemon concept for the midwest id greatly appreciate it and im sure others from here would too. I think it would be awesome.

I think another option for vaicear’s ability is something that make ice type moves have certain percentage chance of leaving the target with a burn as it’s easier to hunt weaker prey. Just an idea

I'm a bit late I know, but what if Vaicear had a branching third evolution? One form that prefers ice types moves and the other that prefers fire type moves? The fire form could have a higher attack while the ice form could have a higher defence.

I’d LOVE to see a giant sloth “fossil” Pokémon. It’s imo the best ice age animal

I’d love to add three more, a Cave Bear and a Giant Sloth. The Cave Bear would be Dark/Ice and an ancestor to Ursaring, Bewear and Beartic lines. Would be a physical tank with a moderate speed, however, as it was a scavenger, it’s ability would be to let an ally Pokémon always go ahead of it, with its other ability being Intimidate and it’s hidden ability being Moxie. The Giant Sloth mon would be Ice/Normal and an ancestor to the Slakoth line. It’s ability wouldnt be truant as Giant Sloths were quite mobile, and could kick some serious ass, maybe Hustle as it’s main ability, with Thick Fat as its secondary. Both of these mons would be version exclusive fossil Pseudo Legends due to how dominate of a species they were, both physical attacking tanks, with the Cave Bear being more defensive whilst the Giant Sloth would be a bit faster. A 3rd mon I though of while typing this would be a Hellpig, ancestor to the Tepig line. probably an Ice/Fighting type with Vital Spirit, Intimidate (because they’re terrifying), and it’s hidden ability would be either Scrappy or Anger Point. Scrappy would make it better but Anger Point would fit better, and it’s BST fully evolved would be 530 with most of it in attack and speed, with average defense and everything else would be middling, a glass cannon

Honestly this is one of my favorite episodes so far about your Kaskade region, I even came up with some of my own mons based of off yours Alchenia and maracillama(ice-normal): the ancestors to numel and camerupt, these ancient pokemon lacked much means of defense, instead choosing to evade any threat in a mass stampede, in terms of appearance they are largely similar to a macrauchenia in terms of appearance and have shaggy fur like a llama or alpaca, with Alchenia having light brown fur with a white underbelly and maracillama having chocolate brown fur with a beige underbelly. Phasmoline and spectroiger(ice-ghost): believed to be the ancestors to most modern cat pokemon, they were the apex predators of there habitat, having paranormal abilities that made them excellent predators, with some researchers theorizing they may have even hunted in packs/prides, Phasmoline is white in color with light blue stripes and paws whereas spectroiger is grey with the same light blue stripes, but have triangular tips like a tigers, as well as their teeth being light blue and jagged like icicles and ice colored tufts of fur at the back of their legs. Hillodillo and Alpidon (ice-rock): sturdy, strong pokemon that are believed to be the ancestors to Sandshrew and by extension Sandslash, they were virtually predator proof since they're shells were rock hard. Hillodillo kinda looks like a mix between a armadillo and a glyptodon. With a brown shell with a white top and posses light grey fur where they aren't covered in armour, as for alpidon it is much more closely based on dodicurus with their shell being dark, rocky grey in color with a bluntish snow covered tip resembling a mountain, as well as darker grey fur.

I like the second idea more for vaicear it's a lot easier to understand but if you wanted to mix the two you can make it so every single time it uses a fire ice move it's attack goes up but it's defense goes down

I hope we get to see what the Player character Trainers look like! Would be really nice to make some fan art of what some theory teams I'd have. Doing a great job with all of this! Can't wait to see more!

I love how, despite everything, the Stegosaurus is still excluded from the Pokemon Universe

I personally think that Telemac should be an Ice Dark type, as its behavior, design, and signature move (which I think should also be dark type) seems to insinuate evil and cruelty. Maybe it can have a signature ability that gives it stab with Psychic type moves, without actively being a Psychic type. The previous form can still be Ice Psychic though. Pokémon changing types as they evolve isn't exactly uncommon.
