When Wiktor says how he uses the Layer Systems (metal first, paint later,...etc) this is something I always teach to my Students, and part of my workflow too. When I was a texture artist for CoD WW2 I had much better results thinking this way, than just the opposite... Wiktor, you're an amazing tutor, I love how you work, I think we work in a similar way (which makes me happy) so,...guys, please keep up the great work! YOU ROCK!

Every new stream you guys put out increases in quality. I loved seeing wiktor's workflow. Also, seeing him play with the value sliders was really helpful because it enabled me to see the decision making process necessary to determine if a mask is going to give me the result I want.

This is amazing! I saw this 7 times in a day. Next session please do on Alpha Brushes. I really want to learn Like Royal and Luxury walls and doors with Alpha Ornaments Brushes.

Great tutorial, thanks! I was expecting an update to the current beta by now. Currently adding a Paint Layer just kills the performance.

Weird. My woods all have a satin finish on them. Even playing with the metalness and roughness values, I cannot get the rosewood texture to gloss like it is on the shaderball in the video at 5:55

That's unlisted. I found it on my recommended list but can't find it on your channel. I'm pretty sure there was another stream like a day or so ago that I also can't find anywhere. You people stream and not having it on demand or I'm losing it from being locked up for a month now? Anyways, great stream.

I asked this in a previous vid, however i will ask here also. For those of us who Own Quixel Suite can we import all of our Smart materials from the suite into Mixer?

I'm afraid not! Mixer and Suite have completely different underlying structures, so they're not compatible

I saw in the Doom Eternal promo video the engine they use and noticed it could paint like directly in the editor viewport. I hope in the future mixer gets integrated into UE5

Wow this is the 1st Mixer 2020 video that a noob can get into to. Too bad my whole machine bluescreen right up to the end with the save part. :( I hope you guys update Bridge and Mixer soon to be more stable! Thank you for at least showcasing work that starts from scratch. Now can you please explain how this shader ball is saved and reused with other assets? An 3d object may require many shader balls. I feel like you zipped right past that part at the end of video. What loses me is that you have this giant stack right. If I load in a 3d asset for my new shader ball do I lose it's stack? If I switch the model how do I preserve the custom settings of tweaking a smart material that differs from it's local library settings? I'm trying to see the bigger picture here when working on texturing a large model that depends on many smart asset stacks and trying to tell one stack apart from the rest. There must be a way to group and label things and add some level of organization beyond Materal ID. Let's drill down the fundamentals from one model encompassing many materials to the back and forth workflow of an dealing with an entire scene. Can this be explained at the fundamental level? Thank you so much WikTor for your brilliant demo!

it seems really great, tested it too, but tbh.. the program is reeally slow at the moment.. I hope performance is getting better in the future

I have a yellow "!" on my scratches layer. Any clue what happened or where to look for a fix?

Window > Asset Manager Look for assets that have the "!", and reimport them

I am still using quixel suite for photoshop and it's still 10 time faster than mixer, too bad they drop support for the photoshop suite!

@@gursimransingh3513 how big are you baking you Lightmaps? well if you are running unreal as GPU raytrace you dont have to render anything. look at your lightmass settings? and perhaps fix your lighmaps... you might have a very high number on small objects.. or perhaps. take a look at you Mesh density.. you might want to drop it a bit or you mapping objects... it should be as slow...

Is it me, or am I not see the point in creating your own smart materials. Yeah, he is working with smart materials, but he never explains how to turn your projects into a smart material
