That's awesome Nuno, one think that always irritated me about Lumion is the unrealistic landscape, would you create grass and dirt with that software, that would take the projects to next level tbh!

This is an awesome tutorial. I noticed this technique is being applied to a flat surface. What approach would you use to apply this material to curved sloping surfaces.

Hey Nuno. I like this video. I just downloaded the quixelmixer and I love it! I've already watched like 50 KZfaq videos on it and I dont think ONE of them talked in detail about using your own custom textures. May I request another video using this tool and creating your own creative PBR texture maps. I know you made something like that with Materialize but maybe this one can talk about more blending you can do and how much depth/dimension you can get from it to use in Lumion. Like a photo of a nature shot. Or even just material specs from manufacturer websites like tile/stone. Can quixelmixer blend out seam lines? To make it seamless (untiled). Can you make more randomness in the texture to where it sort of bleeds together? Then create PBR texture maps (Diffuse/Normal/Gloss/Displacement). I bet it would look really good in Lumion.

The best way to make seamless texture tiling,as for me -to create as biggest tile as you can, a specially for something like pavement, or brick wall. I am making 10-15 meters pieces. Than texture does not repeat itself in a steady shot and next tile starts somewhere an the edge of the picture.

Great tutorial as usual.. But i want to mention that manhole shouldn't follow the bumpy noise map of asphalt because it's iron material.. I hope to see materials like parquet, applying and playing with a multiple ID channel mesh like wooden table with aluminum legs.. It would be great

Both are good, but Lumion currently has better features for exterior. But D5 2.0 will come with very good features for it! :)

They are free if you use them with Unreal Engine. If you use other software, they have their pricing model, subscription based. You can check all the details at their website. quixel.com/megascans

So, you made repeating tiling of megascans asset disappear and then you added decals like asphalt patch and cracks so you can have "costumed repetitive tiling".. hmmm.. got it..

That's why working with layers is so important. I recommend exporting a "clean" version, without any cracks or whatsoever, and then you can add a new version with those details. You can have different material ID on your model to add different materials, and thus not having noticeable texture repetition.

Yes, the process is exactly the same. And you just import the textures into D5 like they come from Mixer. You don't need to edit them in Photoshop like with Lumion (except the Displacement).
