Creative Colorful Portrait Lighting with Nanlite Pavotube 15C | Mark Wallace

In this episode, Mark Wallace uses four Nanlite Pavotube 15C lights to create two different portrait styles. In the first lighting setup, Mark uses four PavoTube 15C LED lights set at a daylight color temperature to create a classic headshot with unique catchlights. In the second setup, Mark changes all the lights to primary colors to create a highly saturated image with some image blur for added effect.

Awesome video. I remember Larry Peters back in 1990s used a homemade version for high school senior portraits, The students called the lights his light sabers, He used plexiglass tubes with flash if I recall right. I have to find the VCR

nice tuto and images. are nanlite as good as ice light 2 ? i purchased one ice light 2 but couldn't afford three more to do such effect. nanlite is expensive but less than westcott.

she is gorgeous!But i don't know how you can have a quite perfect in focus face with blur hair...are you shooting in the perfect instant she stop the movement with the head while the hair are falling?!Thanks Mark!

Yes, that's it. Her hair is moving much faster than her face. So her hair is blurred and her face is not. If you look closely you'll still see motion blur in her face, but it's just not as much as her hair because of the speed of the movement. That color grading was horrific. It looks like you ran out of bleach fix when you're processing your prints. To each his own. Years ago I bought two fluorescent single tube strips from Home Depot and gelled them for far less money. However I really like these things but there's no way I would buy only rent these
