Is it a ship or a tiny house? Together Steph and Greg Parham designed and built their dream tiny home, the San Juan. They originally moved into together in a much smaller tiny home and quickly learned what worked and what didn’t. In their new build, they fixed the problem issues and combined their distinct rustic and French country styles. The result: a gorgeous home that reflects both of them. Their tiny house was directly inspired by the San Juan mountains and the 4 corners region. The curvy roofline and angular back loft back give it a ship look. Their tiny was built on a 24’ trailer, but the unique loft bump out gives them an extra 5’ of usable space. It features many to-die-for design features, like a manual elevator bed, and stunning reclaimed materials like local barn wood.

This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things kzfaq.infoUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.

I have to say. At the beginning of the tiny house movement, they were so unique. Individuals build them with what materials they could afford due to a market crisis and out of necessity. They were a cross between a house, shanty, and a camper. They were almost live in works of art. Once they became mainstream the corporate builders took notice the jumped right on it and now their products are mainly cookie-cutter floor plans and just as overpriced as the housing market itself. There are now about 6-floor plans to pick from and they all look almost the same. This tiny house is refreshingly unique. Something that transports you back to 2009. I truly like it for its uniqueness.

Except fo the fact its built as a demo/show house...with main part of house pretty standard trailer park layout -single of living space and the truly unique parts of the house.. ceiling..portholes..loft are in unused space..trying to hold onto that 2009 feel... ,jesus i saw high school kid make as better demo of an elevator bed... ya there is some craftsmanship but a lot more Instagram and fools splendour.. ..enjoy foools!!! Btw couldn't u just die for that penny floor....Unique😶

So if you want to live in a tiny house, you have to be a craftsman and build your own and it needs to look "shanty." Otherwise, "you'Re a PosER." Internet comments are truly the worst. There's no one way a tiny house needs to look. Some want to downsize and NOT live in a work of art, but a functioning small home. Some want to express their creativity in building a fantastical tiny home. Some want to use reclaimed materials. Some want to use brand new materials and live in a tiny technological smart home. Be inclusive and support everyone's own version of their tiny home and stop being so pretentious.

This is STILL the most amazing Tiny House everrrr ! The artisanal woodwork is spectacular and all the exquisite details such as the penny floor, turquoise inlay and herringbone floor elevate this home into a masterpiece. This couple have a great eye ... balancing a vintage, eclectic aesthetic with a beautiful, richly textured colour palette of duck egg and peacock blues contrasted with modern graphics and golden, caramel wood tones. Love it ... even the 'artfully' rusted corrugated iron on the exterior.

This is the first tiny home that I have seen that truly addresses the need I would have for STORAGE, while simultaneously addresses the spacious bathroom, kitchen, bedroom/den area that is scaled proportionately to a regular larger home rather than feeling you are in a “tiny small kiddie” dollhouse feeling I get when viewing other tiny homes. That said, with the addition of extremely professional detailed finishing from Texas and European influence (like the gorgeous herringbone entry and gorgeous doors) this home exudes aspiration and NOT “squeezed into a tiny kiddie house because we can’t afford a mortgage” feeling. Thank YOU for sharing a Realistic beautifully proportioned home that doesn’t feel “tiny.”

I saw this house at the Tiny House Show this past summer. The bathroom is amazing by traditional house standards, and over the top extraordinary by Tiny House standards. Video doesn’t do it justice. Personally, I would prefer a loft over an elevator bed, but I totally see how an elevator bed is preferred by others. The front doors are awesome. The kitchen is fully functional, and you have enough room, so you can have a wardrobe! The house is very artistic and functional.

I know, right! I think the only thing I would change is to hook it up to a counter-weight instead of gearing it to compensate for the weight of the bed. (Not really my idea, though -- my grandpa built a trap door over his basement stairs, so he could store a lot on shelves over the stairs. He used pullies and . . . lead-filled pipes, I think . . . to balance its weight, so even as a child I could lift the closet-floor-sized door by myself, without any additional mechanical assistance.)

She's so right, a *lot* of tiny homes are very boxy! The only way I'd really considered countering that was with a steep roof, but honestly? This is so much better!

Between the entrance doors is a huge gap. But it is not getting cold there? Besides that: That tiny house is stunning! Greg and Steph are having so many skills and they use it in an impressive manner. A really great tiny home!

I love how organized everything is! I have a house that I bought when my wife & I were thinking of having kids, we didn't. So now it's far too large for the 2 of us & our 2 cats. I'm disabled & she works a lot so we hv a hard time keeping up on things. Makes us fantasize about selling it & going tiny home instead

This is my favorite TH. I've seen it before on other tours and could watch it a lot more. So many great ideas. They incorporated some ideas I had thought of myself but hadn't seen before, like the bed and the ships bow. It's great to see them applied and in use. It at least gives me a chance of proving to my wife I'm not crazy with my off the wall ideas for our build.

Scott Your ideas are NOT off the wall. Any thing that makes it YOUR idea as to how it will make it better for YOU is what this kind of building is meant for. This is what I'm praying I can use in my state. I LUV it.

As the wife of a carpenter I think your home is very unique. It seems some on here do not understand the mind of a carpenter. Two of the 4 homes we lived in my husband built AND they sold so there is always someone out there who thinks like you do. Great job!

I'm so happy I SOMEHOW, ran into this again. I watched part of one where the husband was at one of those shows to how off their tiny's. I remembered, because even said that his friends etc kept telling him it looked like a boat lol It was unfinished, though. Now the finished tiny is INCREDIBLE. Wife is as likable as the husband, also. VERY VERY NICE

@@lizsteeds6697 OMG Isn't it nice to see update versions? Such as: If they are STILL living in their tiny house? I'm older, but SO addicted to these lol. I notice that a lot of them have have just lived in them for a couple WEEKS to a month or two at most. I'd love to see updates to people who actually stay. I'm not a skeptic, AT ALL, but they never seem to show those. Hmm Maybe I should google Long term tiny homers. lol Thanks Liz!
