Nick Homes you have a rare gift for teaching. I love Aimee, Jens, Morten and so on.... But your videos truly embrace the medium - the form - that is the modern KZfaq video. You seem to squeeze so much into a short time, and present everything so that all of us come away feeling empowered and inspired. Jazz Duets is setting the standard. Congratulations and many many thanks for sharing your gift.

True! Compared to the VAST majority of instructional videos, here on KZfaq, that stretch a handful of concepts into dozens of minutes, Jazz Duets really crams a lot of examples and informations on a short "bullet". If you miss - or don't get - something, there's always the REWIND button, right?!?

I also like how at 1.22 you say "one note below" and deviate from this concept pretty much immediately-it's just too much fun ;) YOu instinctively choose the best notes, which might not always fit the concept, but always fit good taste. Thank you once again!

Absolutely love the videos - and other than serving its function a guide for what the material is, the filtered 'voice over' part during the demo is such a great humorous compliment to the presentation of the material.

I could be wrong but this explains why I couldn’t match supposedly pentatonic based solos with the scales themselves. I haven’t developed the analysis skills to identify where the disparity lay but just listening to your backing track has pointed my ears in this direction.

This was the Subject with my Teacher Zbigniev Seiffert, Violinist (too early gone) besides many other things like Coltrane Transcriptions. Then I was 17, we had most of the Time only the ears...and the transcribing...making our own thoughts and vocabularity from that. This is a Coltrane and Post-Coltrane language that Didier Lockwood amongst others, ( like D.Liebman, M.Brecker, B.Minzer B.Berg etc. ) whom I met very young, also very early in his development mastered. Exciting, and can be played full of heart with Cuban-Latin, straight Funk and Brasil Stiles like Baiao, Forro Samba, Jazz double Time etc. It is nice to see it here in a methodical way...and there are many ways.Thank You a lot for this work and Inspiration of something that was developed in the Sixties and Seventies. This was surprise! The double Time triplet Mikropuls Funk like Prince's Grooves can be added.

Hello, some questions: - the accompaniment you hear in the video in which key is it? (I feel an Abmaj) - The score written with 3 flats, for which instrument is it? - If I buy the PDF, is there also the accompanying basis? - on which (or which) pentatonic scale is the exercise based? (Sorry for the slightly wrong English). Carlo from Italy

I bought another one of Nick's packages and they some in Bb and Eb, plus concert and the groove track, really everything you need. I think if you go to the package it will also tell you what's included.

Ooops, looks like this package is missing-nothing there, try another one. This is pretty heavy stuff to begin with, try 1 note approach, the vids he mentions at the beginning. if you master them, this one will come by itself.
