I’m pretty sure the live action footage is of the animators (separate from the interview) acting out the dialogue to use as reference when they animate their scenes.

​@dliguori25these are impressions. The animators did these as reference points for the animals. The real interviews would have been far less fake in how they were performed. That being said, the American version did have the problem of being more explicit in the fact that these were animals. The people never explicitly said " because I am a pig," or " because I am a horse," and in so doing, ruin the illusion. They did, however, drive it home to the audience that there were things about animals that we're weird. Getting that Southern woman and her mother to show off photos of her family, and their extensive history in the game of football, and then replacing them with a pig showing off actual Pig skin footballs, is admittedly extremely funny. But at the same time, it just reminds us of all the things we find weird about nature, and all the things we might not like about animals. That's probably what ruined the show in the United States.
