Why does it matter to the price of a footballer that you are in the Championship as opposed to the Premier League. The player is the same player so is worth should not differ

Overall market value of a club is less in the Championship, 30mil in the prem would be less than 10% of the club but here it’s more like 15%, at a certain point it becomes a gamble for a club to be so invested in a single player so they’ll accept and reinvest.. as far as I understand at least

It is paryly to do with replacement value - buying his replacement will be cheaper than if we were in Prem. Yes we would not get same quality, but to buy a Championship winger would be cheaper.

If we’re offered £40m I’d take it whether we stay in championship or get promoted. Good player but I’m not convinced he is a PL player. He’s been nullified for 9 games in championship and PL is a different beast. If he goes to Spurs ask for £35m plus Rodon. Thanks for update Joe.

Imo Summerville only worth about 30m, only had one good season in the championship, with glimpses of potential in the premiership the season before. He also has weaknesses to his game, with bad decision making. I think if we managed to get maybe a less talented, but better team player at a lower price, the team would look better anyway, as long as we had a better no.9.

He is in the same category as Harvey Barnes and Buendia for me. One tier down would be Benhrama and Watkins and they went for about 28 apiece so really Leeds would be mad to accept anything lower than 35

What Leeds should be saying is bids start at £40m or forget it, sell to the highest bidder, so saying we want £40m is stupid, he may go for a lot more than £40m if it becomes a bidding war.

Another thing to consider is, if he stays with us in the PL and doesn't do as good, his stock will plummet. In that regard isn't it better if he leaves regardless and we have a nice 40 million to spend on more prem ready players? Just a thought.

40 million is a definite serious offers only type of price. Its pretty obvious the club want to retain him, and that's his perceived value to the team as a whole. Doesn’t matter what league you are in its the value to us that's important. Would we want to sell to a domestic club as well? An option abroad would probably benefit all

This isn't going to be popular but given all this transfer noise i'd call time on Cree's season. He hasn't been in great form of late and whether consciously or not i fear he is angling for a move. A move that will be a lot easier if we remain in the Championship. As for sums, i can't see us getting £40M if we don't get promoted. If we do, i can't see us selling

Summerville is a championship player I would sell him anyway even if we got promoted....trust me he wouldn’t get away with those mazy runs holding onto the ball for ages in the premiership👍. Just my opinion....look how many players have failed moving up to the next level.

Like all clubs, Leeds have to balance their books for FFP. If that includes £40m for Cyre then he's sold for that figure, if Liverpool or whoever wants to offer £20m then piss off somewhere else. Stand your ground Leeds United & get your evaluation fees for the likes of Llorente, Wober, Aaronson, etc. No club is gonna give Leeds United a player at a bargain price so hopefully the club does the same
