FILM DESCRIPTION:
Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky's help, Adonis soon gets a title shot, but whether he has the true heart of a fighter remains to be seen.

Love this scene, Adonis proved himself with the first knock outs, he made his point, he didn't need to prove anything else. Andre Ward is an all time great. Sometimes it's not about proving yourself to others, it's about proving something to yourself.

@curiouslymavismade 1.) A gold medal means something in amateur boxing, it means nothing in professional boxing. Canelo doesn't have an Olympic gold medal and he'd steamroll Ward. 2. Retiring undefeated doesn't really mean much these days, thanks to Floyd Mayweather brainwashing the boxing community into thinking that preserving your 0 is the most important goal and is the holy grail standard of boxing, even you think that lmao. Ray Robsinon lost 19 times before hanging the gloves up and he was an exponentially more dominant boxer in his time than Mayweather ever was. 3. He retired in his prime and ducked Beterbiev. There's a difference between a _great_ boxer and an _all-time great_ boxer. Andre Ward is miles away from that recognition - he simply hasn't accomplished enough to put him on any GOAT list.

I loved the boss stats that they had when introducing a new fighter. The writers were inspired to do that by anime villain intros and I wish they kept it for the later films.

What happened to his father was cause of a crazed boxer who was brainwashed to attempt ( actually did it) to kill his opponents to make russia look good and the ref should have been stopped the fight. The likelyhood for that to happen to adonis in a professional fight is 5% imo. I know it was for story reasons but Donny wasnt in the same danger his father was

That was a great scene. I don’t think I’ve watched any of the Creed movies but that was a pretty good scene. I’m a sucker for deep emotional scenes in film with great dialogue, monologue and great delivery and I have similar experiences and pain and that makes it home harder.

Creed disrespected the entire gym by the way he got in the ring, then he doubled down because he knocked one person out. He didn’t prove his point, duke never doubted him as a fighter everyone’s point was he didn’t have to be. Wheeler humbled him because he thought he was ready for the big time and dukes point was proven that he had a lot to learn and no one wanted to risk disrespecting apollos legacy by helping him learn it besides the one person who understood him best. Rocky.

He ain't learn nothing the hard way. He got in there and knocked a professional boxer down in less than a minute and then right after that you cowards allow the champion to walk in and challenge him. Wheeler aint tough for that.
