Dame was smiling and being firendly. He was hoping for Adonis to recognize him instantly. As soon as he didn'. You can see his disappointment and anger in his face but he just trying to hide them with a forced smile. Great scene and acting.

Makes sense though...the guy was leaning on his car so Adonis was probably a bit pissed off. But you gotta remember Damian's been locked up for over a decade and the last time they saw each other, they were kids. Not hard to forget someone's face when they spent their teen years behind bars.

Once he recognized it was Damion that tough guy attitude instantly disappeared. He turned back into a teenager. He was afraid... Great acting there. I enjoyed this movie very much. The ominous music adds to the intensity of this scene..

Small detail I noticed after rewatching this movie a million times; when mentioning his car, Donnie's attempt to establish dominance backfired when he tries to subtly sizes up Dame, but he picked up on it! I think that's what made Dame drop the friendly act and reveal himself for a moment to put Donnie on edge and take back control of the situation!

It’s like Dame was holding on to this last shred of hope that Adonis didn’t actually cut him out and that him not reaching him was a misunderstanding. And then Adonis doesn’t recognize him anymore and he realizes that his brother really did abandon him

I told me wife and I'll say it here too: this is Jonathan Majors YEAR! He's running the gambit across the board: Being Damian in the CREED film series, jumping into the MCU as the next BIG BAD Kang the Conqueror, AND portraying the first African American Naval Aviator Jesse Brown I still remember seeing him on NBC's mini-series "When We Rise" and knew he'd get his time. It's finally here! EDIT: lol well in light of his recent relationship issues in his personal life, might not be his year after all

Haven’t seen the movie yet (probly Friday) but it seems odd Adonis didn’t embrace him, A seems more standoffish than anything esp given that his old friend comes to visit him. Friend seems happy to see him and A seems to be doing well, not sure why he had to cut him like that. Should be a great movie!

I think initially Dame's motives wasn't to use Creed and get a title shot in a deceitful way. Watching the movie over, up until the moment that Creed tells Dame while at his house that what he was asking for was impossible, Dame was content/compliant. I think after that scene and the intense sparring match with the champ right after is when the tide changed. It was definitely a couple more scenes they could have added to make the build up to Dame's dark side not seem so instant. And a scene or two after their confrontation on the beach could have been used as well to help build the climax more. It was still a very good movie overall. My only gripes was it being a little "rushed". But great performances from both leads none-the-less. I did feel the last training sequence and final showdown could have been a little better, but again that doesnt drop my rating of the movie too much. All in all 8 outta 10.

Completely agree. It's one of the few movies nowadays that actually needed 30 mins more rather than 30 mins less I was more hyped for Dame's first fight than the final fight, which has never happened for me in any Creed/Rocky movie.

Ah yes…in a pretty dangerous part of LA going to box then going to a liquor store? I think bringing a gun was the smart decision considering it could’ve helped Adonis while he was stomped out
