Actually I’m not sure which is really the case since neither really makes sense - no way Randy forgot about it going through the boards, yet he laid her down on them - but they’d been sitting on them for hours and it hadn’t come for them during all that time, so maybe he thought it was safe, so maybe he was “just” trying to date rape her and then it ambushed them…. The kid playing Randy was terrible. It's like he was reading the lines off of a card every single time. Paul Satterfield (Deke) did a good job, which is why it didn't surprise me to learn he became a famous actor after this. The girls didn't have a lot of lines. They were mainly there to look pretty and get eaten.

@@nathancano3551 Pretty much xD like when Laverne (?) was being dragged away and screaming for help, Randy could have use those extra few seconds to take a short but quick running dive into the water and swim to shore. It took like like 8-10 seconds or slightly more for Lavern to be pulled into that sludge-like substance and devoured. By the time that happened Randy could have been just over halfway back to shore and by the time the creature was done devouring Lavern and made its way around the raft (which bought Randy a few more seconds), Randy could have been just coming to shore. From there he could have gotten to the car, thus putting as much distance between himself and that creature in the lake

Creepshow 2, its sequel, is a 1987 American comedy horror anthology film, also it went to theaters. It was based off stories by Stephen King, but this time the movie was not written by King. It also had 3 stories instead of 5, The "Hitch-hiker," "Old Chief Wood'nhead," and "The Raft" Stephen King makes an appearance in both movies.
