We found this abandoned ghost town in the middle of nowhere. This abandoned ghost town in PERFECT CONDITION looks like a Hollywood set and would be a perfect filming location for a TV show like The Walking Dead.
Today we take a ride into Ione Nevada, a creepy, yet charming little town that resembles a Hollywood movie set. Come with us as we take look around for a resident in a town that boasts a population of 41.
Ione Nevada is a town located in Nye County Nevada, about 23 miles away from Gabbs. Gabbs itself is pretty close to being a ghost town as well, so this town is literally in the middle of nowhere. Ione came into existence in 1863.
This is part one as we will head back into this town to try and explore some of the buildings and also conduct a night time visit.
This town does have residents, so vandals should stay far away from this place as the current residents don't take kindly to vandals. You wouldn't want to be caught vandalizing way out here. No police will come to save you. Of course, if you're a vandal, hopefully you get what you deserve.
Please SUBSCRIBE to my channel and stay up to day with our weekly updates. We add new videos every Sunday. If you visit this town, you will know someone is watching you, but who and where?

My Grandma used to run the Ore House Saloon. She lived in a couple of those houses in your video. My Mom ran all those hills when she was younger...in the 60's. No running water. They loved it there. My Mom still talks about this place. Thank you for the video. My sisters have been there, but I haven't. When my Mom was showing me your video and all the places she lived as a kid and where my Grandma used to work..it brought a big ole smile to her face. Thank you...made my day!!

There IS running water, Toya...those cottonwoods wouldn't be there if it was dry. I was there 10 years ago and the saloon was so busy, we decided NOT to go in, after we filled our water bottles and radiator with water from the gas station. They had water, but NO air compressor for the 2 flats I got at Berlin State Park.

the fact that the landscaping of town is still intact, meaning no weeds or overgrowth, really lends to the feeling of recently abandoned..or currently inhabited.

There's probably only around 10 people who live there now. The Ore House Saloon closed down a few years ago. Believe it or now, that place was packed during the summer nights and hunting season. I've seen it with standing room only inside. I like what you said discouraging vandals. The caretaker of the town is a big ol mountain boy who's around 6'5" and 300 easy. Wouldn't be good for a vandal to have him catch the, lol.

+Jonathan Honaker Thanks for the comment Johnathan. It was a bummer to find the Ore House Saloon closed down. I was hoping to get some video inside. We stopped by there about 10 years ago and it was a nice little place. It gets old seeing every cool place destroyed by mindless vandals. Thankfully this place has a few residents who take care of it and keep the vandals in check.

I wandered the west with my dog n blacksmith end n lived in my cab over camper back in the early 80s. I met a old timer with a string of mules alongside the road one hot summer day n made contact with him. I stayed in Ione for close to a week. Now a old man myself n just happened to run onto this video. Some town folks were slow to say hey n most seemed oddly preoccupied by some other being presence in the old waterhole there. An old Indian guy came over n elated the fact that I had the glow of the sky people, n I just laughed it off at the time. A few days later while trimming n shod my 1st team of oxen a strange crowd of town folks gathered nearby n watched me work in the forges mounted on my tailgate n brackets. That night a cute Indian gal sat at our table of 3 others n just looked at me n asked if she could see my eyes. As it was rather dark throughout the room off to the side of the pool table. Will continue,,,

@@catwoman2967 Hey, there's a reason why I am reluctant to say in public. I love my adopted gkids too much. For many yrs I use to wonder why God didn't take me, even when I put a 45 to my head. Took many years, but now I know why. Each one of my gkids were abused n raised like animals, eating off the floor with hands n stealing food for their younger siblings. Its taken yrs to get them where they're at today. They needed a gpa n family who loves them more than anything n today they're healing. My twins n other 2 little girls know Jesus n that's the best xmas I've ever received. Long story, but I shouldn't be here alive. I will love my gkids everyday Jesus allows me to. I realize that hasn't answered your question Cat. It's late n I gotta get for now. Who told you though? I'll go to sleep tonight wondering. God Bless, Ty

I vaguely remember while sitting on the boardwalk with my dog "lady" n 3 other town dogs which no one actually owned but were adopted by town folks. I always wanted to go back to Ione n possibly even move there one day. But life had other ideas n glad to have lived where I have. Very sad to see Ione deserted as it may be, but I have reservations as to what may have took place perhaps? Yet, it's just my thoughts only. IMHO. I left with the feelings that most town folks had some shared roots to Ione an/or why they wished to live there. I did in fact got the uneasy feeling that most never walked alone outside of town as there were stories of persons disappearing or just left in the middle of the night. Guess it's anyone's claim as to what took place an why? Thru the years I haven't-gave much thought to Ione till today. Good or bad that's that,,, Ty

Toya Tee Hi Toya, how I ended up here again is strange in itself. No I didn't ever live there in Lone, but shod a few horses n a miners mules got trims n front rim shoes. He was a real critter as was I back then. Hard to think it's been 45 yrs since I ended up there. Wasn't really going anywhere then, lived with my dog n had gas n coal forges on back end with cab over camper. My ole 69 Chevy step side 3/4 ton had 200 lbs of coal with rebar holding them there thru my travels. All my farrier tools stacked up inside n had 500lbs of cold shoes with straight stock for handmade ones. I drifted for many yrs just enjoyed meeting the real Americans n those whom had their lands stolen from them. As that's our history it seems, govt n greedy bankers fkin whom ever they can but their day will one day come. Why did I drift around? Long story n having spent 4 yrs in Latin America with IDF Paradog, strange Israel had interests there huh? Allot of population down there have Germans, Polish, NZ, ect n no I am not Jewish. Thinking we could solve the worlds problems n helped train govt forces who had contact with the Farc rebels n the drug n kidnapping enterprises of South America. After 4 yrs n loosing my closest friends/brothers n my IDF fiancé all with 6 mos n living in the jungles n hill country for lengthy periods. I saw my share of drugs n pallets n barrels of numerous currency's mainly USDs loaded onto C17 n 130s. I figured out who the real criminals were n why most congressional n senate ect are all multi millionaires back in the states. Guess I wanted to get that off my chest tonight. I have 6 heart stents n 2 in the widow maker that keep plugging up. I know my days are few. We trained them poor souls at Ft. Benning when the SOAs were still training Asassins by night n soldiers by day. When things got outta hand due to the training of the Latin military to fight n infiltrate the Farc n drop corridors n jungle brown water subs. They had them longgg before the DEA set up shop down there. That was fun, I liked blowing sh** up n you could hear the drug mules moan n cry. When they put million dollars bounty out, you know you're making big waves. Yet the corruption in govt n military in every country is unbelievable as is the US as well. Anyhow, I best get to bed. Just a story of a ole man n his dog. Married once for 25 yrs n cost me 600k n her half of the temper pedic bed. Never saw it coming,,, Toya, my apologies for getting off track some with main story. I did meet some locals there, I recall your gmas place too. I always wanted to go back there again, as it was so peaceful there at least by the day. Had a Indian gal claim I had the eyes of the great sky people, not sure why she said that? There's a few mines out in the hill country, n had miner invite me up at his place. He didn't tell me I had to drive thru rocks n snakes in spots, I hated snakes from my LA days, damn vipers. We ate young bobcat that night n even my dog enjoyed it n the the uncooked bones. I had salt n pepper n cheese so we melted cheese over the cat n it sure was good eatin. I left my shakers for him. He wrote me a few times, I lost track having raised two awesome boys, n working 16 hrs days n played hard boating n snowboarding ect. He just had a small shack n his 3 mules n 2 dogs n 4 wild cats. He claimed he had a few 100k in a Vegas bank, but I don't think he had a dime between his ears n only had a few teeth left. He did tell me alien story out at the fire that night. I ended up helping him add some space n had some old lumber n insulation for his bed. He said he once was married, n lost her to a mine cave in. Don't think he reported that, but I didn't ask either,RIP. He showed me how to keep tatters in a root cellar n had a full case of Jim Bean too. Must had 50 some empty ones nearby, someday he'll get them filled again.lol. The alien story was scary n I didn't get the impression he was lying about it either. First time I forced my anvil stand against my camper door inside. I didn't sleep most of the night either. Wow, 45 yrs ago. Wonder how he made out, he said he found a vein of gold where his wife was buried. He showed me some really nice nuggets at the time. I might be the only one knowing where he hid it too. He gave me a large nugget n when I was 45 I had it mounted on a ring. Kinda looks ugly at first, but after you realize it solid gold at 1.5 oz nugget. Just stays in my safe now with my Yarborough, my youngst boy a MD n always looked at those two keepsakes. Not sure if he really knows what his pa did, as I rarely spoke of it. I miss Lone n the folks n ole critter. Best Wishes Ty

I would go but I'm way to far away from this area and don't have the cash flow to be able to do what you guys do. I would love to be part of your adventures. It is my passion to be able to do what you guys do.

The interesting thing about the town is that it's on Public Land. In addition, Wikipedia says there is a store, but that store closed down a long time ago, so anyone thinking they can get services, any services there is sadly mistaken, and that's not a place to run out of supplies. There may be 4 or 5 residents remaining, but I didn't see a single soul when I was there. It is an interesting place.

I am in Nevada. There are lots of places like that in this state. We have a county that is 20,000 sq.miles and a population of maybe 10,000 (if that). Nye county. The largest county in the U.S. is next door in Cal. San Bernardino county. Louisiana has parishes, so that does not count. Alaska has much larger entitiies, but they are also not called counties.

There's lots of small towns all over Nevada, North Eastern California and South Eastern Oregon, all just languishing into decay and ruin. There has to be some reason for people to stay put and prosper (even to a humble extent). The residents sticking it out grow old and the property lacks essential maintenance as one, by one, the place just shuts down. It's a sad thing to see.
@ExploreWithUs
@ExploreWithUs 8 жыл бұрын
+TMIDiva So true, it's really sad to see. It seems most people have no idea that these places exist all over Nevada. From the comments I get, it seems people think these towns are right next to a big city. They have no idea that it takes about two hours on two lane roads to reach towns like this. The nice thing about Nevada is that many of the abandoned towns are on public land, which allows anyone to explore them. What's really interesting about Ione is that it's also on public land, but there are residents who are living there and refuse to leave. There are some legal issues they are having to work out over the issue. Thank you for commenting. :)

+Explore With Us I've actually lived in a small, isolated town. Two, in fact. The good part, the quiet and the natural wonder, can not always compensate for the poverty and the lack of basic services. When I'd heard of the protest in Burns (a town close to my former location) I recalled the fires we endured. The roads that need service and all of the ranchers who lease fragile land requiring frequent monitoring to prevent overgrazing and the catastrophic damage that entails. There's always this ying/yang thing with the USFS. I'm a rancher's daughter and I can tell you that leases are a needed protection. People who blame their hard times on the Government (and the death of small town living) have an irrational sense of entitlement. These dying places do so because their life cycle has completed.

+Veronica Morgan I love to talk to others about these places. I also love any feedback. You have no idea how much it means to me to hear the positive feedback. I do take a lot of photos, and I have some drone video of wild horses that I will try to get posted. I have some photos of the Donkey's too. Some of the first videos I posted were very poor quality and I am trying to improve quality with each video. If you watch a few of the earlier ones, you will see the quality isn't quite there. So if you see some that are poor quality, that's why. :) Unfortunately I still have at lot of footage from my earlier videos that I am not sure about posting due to the quality, but I feel it wouldn't finish off the series of one of the ghost towns we visited.

I think that your being to hard on yourself about your earlier videos. I'm more interested in what capturing at the time, rather than the quality. Not everyone in life has to be critical, just enjoy what you see and have fun watching them. So with that said, you should post whatever video you have made.
