As a Breton crepes' master I can truely recognize the skill of those women. The food's dressing is excellent, everything is well positionned to optimise the fold. It's also how you can judge a shop is a good one. Concerning the comments about gloves and touching your hairs.. I take a shower 30min before my service, my hairs are cleaned. I keep my undernails clean, I frequently use soap throughout a service of crepes. Using gloves is only used for preparing the dough.

What the hell is wrong with the people and the "gloves" thing?? Is just fast food! Chefs in restaurants don't use gloves!, Your mom don't use gloves when she cook's! people touch everything all the time and then touch their faces more than 20 times per day... Even your cellphone has more germs than the hands of those lady's and most of the people eat with their hands before use it.

LovelyEngel89 It looks more professional, personally I would never order anything at a street food restaurant if they wouldn't wear any gloves. And real kitchens tend to be a bit more clean as well.

***** Well, that's some shitty gloves then.

Witex Z no offense, but no professional chef would wear gloves in the back kitchen unless they have to. When you rearrange dishes and cutting veggies/meat. I do not know about you, but people would not like to wear gloves when they are in the kitchen because they lose their 'touch'. When you are in the back kitchen handling things from hot ovens to sharp knives, Yes gloves are occasionally it is dangerous when your sensory skills are also reduced by a glove. Yes, people do use gloves in the kitchen, but usually it is because they want to avoid directly touching objects or they have a cut on their hand. For example, marinating meat or they wanted to avoid getting their blood all over the food. Who says "looking professional" would help? Last time I went to a restaurant, this lady was wearing gloves, great right? Yea, especially when she took out the trash, used the same gloves to take the money, AND the same gloves to serve us food. In the video, this isn't even a street vendor or anything, how do you know this is "street food"? This could be a restaurant in the mall for all you know. If they clean their hands, then what does it matter? Just because the outer appearance is a bit different, it does not mean the kitchen runs differently. Are you telling me you're expecting them to use GLOVES when they are serving crepes off of a hot plate? And you don't have to get all smart and say "Well, that's some shitty gloves then.", because gloves is made from plastic. If you get anything that does not melt when it touches heat, then you might as well call it a mitten.
@corbisd7237
@corbisd7237 9 жыл бұрын
It doesn't help to say "no offence" when you tell me I "don't have to get all smart" and that stuff. Honestly, I get your point. I don't have anything against you two. To me, this looks like a street food vendor. I just spoke out my opinion. I just told what I believe. You don't have to write an essay to explain to me why I'm wrong, because its my opinion. Relax. Its the fucking internet.
@minhchau1997
@minhchau1997 9 жыл бұрын
Wasn't I just speaking my opinion and beliefs then? I'm just explaining my perspective in the situation and I don't agree with you. Really, my reply was an essay? I don't think you have been taking enough literature classes then. If you wanted me to send a less snarky reply, then don't throw profanity around so much and people can take you seriously. It's the "fucking internet", really? Last time i checked, the Internet was a source of communication. It's the root of cyber bullying and much more, just because it's the Internet does not undermine anything. I'm actually pretty calm about this whole topic. When i started with no offense, i was not trying to make my stance weaker, i was trying to tell you not take my criticism about your opinion to heart. Guess ur didn't work.

An Italian chef will cook, touch, knead and serve your food with no gloves. He kneads your bread, pulls your spaghetti and spins your pizza. But when its a Japanese cook with no gloves everyone looses their minds. Get real people. Cooking originates with feeling with the hands, it never had gloves.This is not the first time someone cooks without gloves nor will it be the last.

yeah, I had a crêpe-meal when I was in Tokyo: 1 savoury (ham...) followed by 1 sweet (cream, strawberries...). It was yummy!! :) btw: I grew up in Paris and I can tell you that crêpes in Japan have nothing to envy to the ones done in France hehe But I like the way they're presented in Japan: very pretty. In France they're usually folded twice and laid out on a plate. If you ever go to France try the crêpes from Bretagne: they're made with buckwheat flour: very nice.
