These pliers seem like more of a homeowners grade rather then something that is meant to compete with Klein and other truly professional brands. I go over a few of the nuanced design aspects as compared to Klein and diamond tools showing how they just are not as good.

Great review, Ty. Glad to lean about Crescent, Diamond, and Klien; but I'm stick'n with Channellock.

I like my Ideal model 430 pliers, had them for years and they cut really well.

I have an old (1960-70s?) pair of lineman's pliers similar to the Crescent with orange coated handles, perfect jaw cross-hatching, and off set pin. They are very high quality but there isn't a single identification mark on them. I'm certain they're American made, but what brand could they be?

Taiwan made Crescent Brand 2050-9 Lineman pliers are at par with Klein D213-9NE when it comes to sharpness and durability. The only disadvantage is that Crescent plastic dipped handles are quite hard and so not as comfortable as Kleins😅

Since Apex Tools bought Crescent, the brand has gone down hill.

It's sad but true; these days Cresent tools imho are well below its sister brand Gearwrench in quality. Cresent seems to be seen in discount stores and the like. Even the famous adjustable USA made "Cresent wrench," declined in quality over the years and later USA ones had so-so quality control and other brands both domestic and foreign were superior in quality, fit and finish.
