Fabulous care guide . Heating is an interesting subject & much discussed on reptile forums and pages . I find a 50 watt deep heat projector does them well set about 24 centigrade in one back corner. These work efficiently & I’ve seen all my crested geckos bask under them so they really do appreciate the extra heat . I had a friend who kept a crested gecko at room temperature which was about 21C and it died because of impaction which meant that the poor thing couldn’t digest its food quick enough . It either rots in their gut or they cannot poop quick enough & get impacted.

for the clay balls, a less expensive version of the same thing is sold for orchid propigation. i got a 20lb bag of "organic leca" for the same price as the hydroballs branded for reptile keepers

I've had my crested gecko for about 2 months. He is about 20 grams. He LOVES hunting for crickets. I will give him 2-3 dusted crickets twice a week and he just loves hunting those things down. He eats the crested gecko food to. I am fortunate that he likes crickets. It's so fun to watch him jump around his enclosure, trying to catch them.

watching this aging I love my crested gecko , have had her 3wk she doing great n that s exact sz of my enclosure !!she's started eating her rapashy , every other day..crickets too .. dorito cutie !

18x18x24 is standard and most breeders don’t have anything close to that. Too many variables dictate a persons husbandry choices.

Can babies and juveniles be on loose substrate?

Hi! All of the videos I watched say they will die if their enclosure is 81F and above. So that is not true from your experience? Or are you a new owner? My tank went to 82 and I freaked out.
